LiQness club has last meeting
The last meeting of the year
on December 5 was a fairly
short business meeting with
Lioness president Ilse
Grillmeyer in the chair.
Main Street Christmas
lights, were discussed and
when they should be put up. It
was decided that they; would
be put up as soon as possible.
Since the meeting the lights
have been installed and they
brighten 'up the business
section.
On December, 10, the
Children's Christmas party
was to be held and plans were
finalized for that. It has now
come. and gone, but the
memories of thq films, bags
of candy and Santa• Claus
himself will linger in the
minds of all the children.
It was voted to donate sums
of money to the Clinton
Legion. Pipe Band and the
Steve and Ruby Shanahan
fund.
Next on the agenda was the
annual Christmas dinner„on

December 14 for the Lions
and Lioness Clubs. The
telephone committee, Lioness
Wynne Graham and Lioness
Carolyn Snell, got busy
phoning every member for a
head count. The dinner was a
"roaring" success with over
,100 members and mates
attending.
Mrs. ,Miller of Seaforth
almost surpassed herself with
the palate teasing and eye
pleasing food she served. It
was scrumtiddlyumpyious.
The Christmas stocking'
draw was made and Mr,,
Wilfred Corriveau of Zurich
won it. Tables were cleared in •
jig -time so that the dancing
could begin. Everyone was
too full to participate for
several numbers so most just
listened.
The Goodtime Band made
up • of Rosemary Taman,
Steve . Argyle, and Mr. B.
Fansher arrived -to beat out
some good,old rhythms which
finally got a few hardy souls
onto the floor. All in all it was
a most enjoyable evening.
December 19 • 'saw the
Lioness members bringing
"homemade cookies to
package for the shut-ins so
Santa Claus can deliver them
on Christmas Eve.
The first meeting of 1978
will be on January 2 with a
regular dinner meeting. A
Dutch auction lit() be held, so
all you gals bring a little
'something or other, well
wrapped and costing about
$1. It should be fun.
All the Bayfield Lioness
Club wish . everyone,
everywhere . a very Merry
Christmas and a super
special New Year. "C. U.

Bennett; presidents of the
Ladies Guild, ACW or
Chancel Guild or, members of
the Board.
The board also set Monday
evening, January 16 for the
Vestr.y meeting. It will take
the form of a pot -luck supper
at 6 pm with the presidents mt
thewomen's , organizations
co-ordinating the meal.
Rev. Bennett reported that
the new choir robes had been
ordered and he was hoping
they would arrive in time for
the Christmas Services.
A letter was received from
Mrs. Doris Hunter, president
of the Local Architectural
Conservancy Advisory
Committee, asking the 3oard

designated as an. Heritage

this was a matter to come
before the congregation and
