CLINTON NEWS -RECORD, THURSDAY,DECEMBER 22, 1977—PAGE 7
Christmas concert
The grades this year that
took part in the annual
Christmas Concert were
grades two, three four five
and six,
On Wednesday December
14, therlasses practised their
number at the dress
rehearsal in front of the
school. On Thursday
December 15th, the concert
was held and presented to the
parents and other guests.
All of the classes did well
and everyone thoroughly
enjoyed it,
The Clinton Junior "C" Mustangs, even though they are the
league leaders in points, most scoring, and the best
goaltending, are still having difficulty attracting much fan
support, as a poor crowd again last Friday night saw the
Stangs dump the Walkerton Black Hawks 9-2. Santa will
visit this Friday night. (News -Record photo)
How to keep your skates in order
Because it's the Christmas
season, you may bewon-
dering if our skating schedule
has been altered: just a little,
which concerns only the in-
termediates and seniors.
Yes, there is regular
skating Saturday December
24. All skaters are invited to
our Christmas party on ice at
11 a.m.-12 noon. Santa will be
corning too with, special'
treats.
There will be no skating on
Wednesday December 28
(Minor Hockey show down
scheduled.) Instead, the
•intermediates and seniors
will skate Thursday,
December 29, 12 noon -4 p.m.;
please ,note the change of

hours too.
The regular skating
schedule for Saturday,
December 31 will be the final
day of the first 10 week
session. All skaters will be
tested for N.S.T. badges on
this day.
Parents wishing to re-
register their child for the
second 10 -week session please
do so with Norma Preszcator,
NST Chairman, during the
skating session on the 31st, or
indicate your intentions
otherwise. Anyone failing to
do this will find that their
names will have disappeared
off the new NSF chartboard
come January.

Some skaters passed tests
last Saturday. Those passing
the. beginners test were
Helena Tiesma, Don Powell,
and Paul Caldwell. Passing
the stroking test were Helena
Tiesma and Devon Hunter.
Helena Tiesma also passed
the elementary test.
Congratulations, skaters.
Now that you've almost
reached the halfway point of
the skating 'season, let's
check to see how you fare as a
good skater keeper. They
should be treated like your
very very best friend, with
tender lovin' care.
Keep the boots clean with a
good polish. New boots that
will not take -a polish very
easy can be made to shine by
rubbing them thoroughly
witii-• the cut half of a lemon.
When dry, polish in the usual
way. Wash the laces when
soiled.
remove the guards, wipe the
blades dry, with a soft cloth,.
Then leave the guards off the
blades. until next time he puts
on the skates.
Nothing demotes the foot
appearance faster than dirty
laces and rusty blades. Check
the grooves of your guards. If
they look rusty they are
telling you that one time you
left the guards on the damp
blades. Clean the rust off
them too if necessary.
Be proud of your skates and
they'll look proud to do ser-
vice for you!
We would like to wish all
our skaters, friends and
readers a very very happy
Christmas.—by • Audrey
Middleton.
