Santa Claus is expected to visit to get any last minute instructions from the little ones, while their bigger brothers and sisters are in the pool. The Lions Club express their gratitude to the Tuckersmith Township for the use of the Recreation Centre and pool. Vanastra Public School Again this year, CKNX AM 920 will be broadcasting Christmas carols by our local public school choirs. The Vanastra Public School depth on Junior Choir can be heard on December 16 and 21 at the following tithes 8:55 a.m, 9:55 a.m., 10:55 a.m. 1:55 p.m, 2:55 p.m. and 3:55 p.m. Last week, the children were entertained by pup- peteer Mr. Richard Keelan, from Kirkton, who presented the play "The Three Little Pigs". Also on the same program was "Grandpa the Clown", Mr. A.W. Stillman from Kitchener. Mr. Stillman demonstrated to everyone the way a clown "puts on his face". It was a very enjoyable afternoon for the children and they would like to thank the people of Conestoga College, who helped the school obtain the , services of "Grandpa the Clown", On Wednesday December 21 beginning at 7:30 p.m. the school is having a Primary Variety Night. Parents are invited to attend this, special assembly. Vanastra Church news The sacrament of the Lord's Supper was held last Sunday with Reverend Boersma officiating. Special music was offered by the Vanastra; Youth Choir, ac- companied by Sherry Boersma, The advent message focused on the promise of God to come and save his people and its fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Next Sunday, the fourth Sunday in Advent, we will centre our sercice around the theme of "Advent Judgement"-. The choir will provide special music and Sherry will play some special Christmas numbers on the organ. Bible Study was held at Jim and Tena Baker's home in Clinton. An enlightened discussion finished the last half of I Corinthians. We covered the sacrament of the Lord's Supper, the place of women in the church, the gifts of the Spirit, and the resurrection of Christ. Needless to say, the discussion took a wee bit longer than one hour and no one seemed to mind. Next Sunday we will cancel for a special Christmas program. We wish to thank everyone who helped trim the Christ- mas Tree. The decorations are beautiful and the tree helps bring out the Christmas spirit. Sunday Evening we will have a Community Christmas Program at the Vanastra Christian Church. Reverend and Mrs. Boersma will lead a carol sing and various groups in the community such as Nursery school, Scouts, Guides, Brownies, and others will fill out the program. This hopefully will be a time for parents and kids to focus on the tru'i' meaning of the Christmas season. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on December 18.
