The Sunday School under the direction of Mr. Doyle Cullen, assisted by Mrs. Cullen and Mrs. Joe Chap- man, practised in preparation for their Christmas program to be presented Sunday, December 18 at 10 a.m. All parents, friends, and members are cordially invited to attend. Village personals Mr. and Mrs. Norm Talbot spent a couple of days visiting friends, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hewitt in Mount Elgin. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. Les. Talbot spent Sunday visiting Pastor Brian and Mrs. Harrison, sons Matthew and Steven in Clawson, Mich. .Pastor Harrison was' the pastor in Bayfield Baptist Church until recently, and is now assisting in the Baptist Church in Clawson. The Talbots all enjoyed hearing both Rev. Harrison and his father, Evangelist Fred Harrison. Cari Lynn Talbot spent Sunday , with her grand- parents, Mr, and Mrs. Norm Talbot. Miss Beverly Gale from Banff, Alberta is spending the holidays with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gale, and brothers Michael and Herbert at the Tank and Tummy Restaurant. Rev. Les Sheils and Mrs. Sheils were guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs, Norm Talbot, on Sunday. Pastor Sheils was guest speaker at the Bayfield Baptist Church. United Church Allison Dunn lit the second Advent candle in St. Andrew's United Church on Sunday morning during the regular worship service. It, being White Gift Sunday, Wendy Greer read a story entitled "If I Hadn't Come" in place of the sermon. The children placed their gifts of money in a manger at the front of the church and all remained for the entire service. The choir is busy getting ready for the annual Candlelight Service on Dec. 18.. News from the Clinton court Some 22 fines were collected this month in Clinton Court held last Wednesday and also with out- of-court payments were collected. The majority of the fines handed out were as a result of "having" liquor charges. Leslie Howatt, Terry Wood, Glenn McLean, Alexander Marshall, David Colquhoun, Paul Van Damme, Michael Trapnell, Michael Regier and David Nigh were all given fines of $54 for individual charges. James Fitton was fined $28 for failing to yield, as was Leonard Goulding while Bradley Snell was fined $28 for failure to stop. Unnecessary noise charges went to Glenn McLean, John Little and David Nigh who were each fined $78. David Shea received a fine of $103 for careless driving. Stephen Carman was fined $300 for careless driving, a $200 fine for careless driving went to Robert Schenel and Benjamin Carlile was also charged with careless driving and a $158 fine. Fred Middleton was charged $22 for • speeding; Kenneth Hurman received a fine of $28 for an improper left turn and John East was fined $58 for having the wrong plates. Anglicans plan gift service Sunday next in Trinity Anglican Church will be White Gift Sunday and the Seven Lesson Carol Service, both at 10 a.m. There will be 'no 8 a.m. Holy Communion. The third and fourth Advent Candle will be lit and following the service, the A.C.W. and the Ladies Guild have arranged a coffee hour and also at that time the Sunday School children will have their party in the Parish Hall under the direction of the Ladies Guild. On December 24 (Christ- mas Eve) Rev. William Bennett will conduct an open service of Holy Communion to which everyone is welcome. ,The service will start at 11 p.m. and the congregation will sing carols until everyone is assembled. St. James Middleton is celebrating Holy Communion' at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve and an invitation has been ex- tended to join them. Although confined to a wheelchair, she is well and looks much younger than 4 -ler years. She has been a i resident of Huronview since February 1969.
