The standings remain the
same in this league as last
week ,,with Debbie's Buddies
in the top place with 47. The
Bowling Bums have 46, the
Chicken Coop's have 35 points
and the Bobcats are last with

Mason split the high single of
241 in the ladies' individual
scoring. Debbie Wise had the
high triple of 537 and Jackie

Farmer's Open Spiel held in Seaforth
The Bonspiel Committee
held a very successful
Farmers' Open Spiel on
Wednesday, December 14.
The prizes were sponsored by
Lorne Brown Motors. At the
time of writing, I did not have
a list of winners for you, they
will be available next week.
The Seniors team will be
playing this Sunday in Mount
Forest for the Division
championship. The Juniors
Tankard Sub Division
playoffs is in Seaforth on
Saturday. Seaforth comes up
against the only other entry-
Vanastra. Spectators are
welcomt5d at both events,
Bill Campbell has entered a
British Consol team in the sub
division playoffs in Exeter on
Saturday and Sunday
December 17th and 18th,
Again spectators are
welcome to .cheer on our
home teams. By next week,
I'll be able to give you the
names of all those on the
above teams and the results
of their games.
The first draw finishes on
Friday Dec. 16. Bye games
and playoffs are to be
scheduled at the convenience
of the participating teams
and hopefully to be. completed
before the next draw begins
in January.
This seems to be a week for
reminders. You are reminded
that your fees are due as of
December 15. Also, you are
reminded that if you cannot
curl the' next draw, it is your
responsibility to let the draw
committee know before they
make up the next draw.
Hockey showdown
date is set
The showdown for minor
hockey players will be held in
Clinton on December 28.
The Showdown, sponsored
- by a 'soft drink company, is
patterned after " the
"Showdown 78" series shown
. on Hockey Night in Canada,
and involves several skill
tests.
There is the breakaway test
where the players have a
chance to score four goals ;
the speed agility and puck
control test, where the
players race the clock on an.
on -ice course; and the
goalt'enders agility test where
the goaltender competes in a
drill in the least amount of
time to earn the most points.
Details can be picked up
from the brochures available
at the arena, or by contacting
any coach or executive of the
minor hockey association.
Winners will advance to
higher levels including
regional, branch and the
nationals.

any records, but he sure kept
the crowd on its toes.

men to think about. Rules for
the Colts' Competition have
been changed this year.You
no longer have to be a "less
than seven year" curler. If
you have never won a division
competition, you are now
eligible to enter Colt Com-
petition. We have a lot of
excellent curlers in our club
so we should be able to put
together a team for this
event. Remember, it doesn't
matter how,many years
you've curled
Check the bulletin board for
the dates of the O.C.A.
competitions and remember
entries MUST be in one week
before the event; these are
O.C.A. rules.
