Teenagers will practice from 5 until 8 p.m., and adults from 8:30 until 10:30 p.m, Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Thompson spent last weekend in Niagara Falls. Mrs. Wm. Pepper suffered a fall on the street in Seaforth. She sprained her wrist. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Elliott of Toronto visited with friends and relatives in Brucefield "and Clinton on the weekend. Mr. Joe Lobb has had in- sulation and new siding put on his home. Mrs. Aldie Mustard visited last week with her daughter Wendy, who is a nurse in training at Woodstock. The Tuckersmith Unit I of the UCW of Brucefield United Church held a penny contest, realizing $193. Mrs. E. Stoll and Mrs. H. Allan were the captains. We have heard of a number of people who are planning to take a trip to Florida and why 'not, after the snow storm over the weekend. 20. Olive Rivers. —48 Crokinole party held in Londesboro by Mrs. Dora Shobbrook United Church News Men's Sunday was ob- served at United Church on Sunday morning. Greeters were John Pollard and Tillie Westerhout, and the ushers were Ron Cross, Ross Lovett, Garnet Wright and Bob Thompson. The all male choir sang "I've got peace like a river", "Thats the way to find happiness" and "Everytime I feel the Spirit," with Ruth Shaddick as choir leader, Louise McGregor at the organ, and Ken Scott on ,the guitar. Harry Lear conducted the service, and introduced the guest speaker, layman Bob Elliott, thanked him, and guest musician Ken Flett on violin, Ken Scott guitar and any others who helped. Jim Jamieson read scripture lesson Mark 15 - 1 "patience with one another" and led in prayer. During the collection, Mr. Flett played "how great Thou art" on violin. Junior teachers were Barbara Bosman and Judy Jewitt. Mr. Elliott's message was "strong in the faith". The flowers on memorial stand were placed in loving memory of Harry Watkins by his family. Aimwell Unit November meeting was held on November 21 in church hall. President Audrey Thompson opened meeting with a hymn and led in prayer. Roll call was answered by 17 members telling their favourite Christmas gift. October minutes were read by secretary June Fothergill. Christmas pot luck supper will be December 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the church for all ladies and visitors and the Aimwell Christmas Party December 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the church. June Fothergill, Mary Peel and Vi Hulley are in charge of program with Ferne McClure and Joan Whyte on table committee. - Meeting was turned over to Helen Lee, Elma and Ella Jewitt to make Christmas favours for Clinton Hospital. Lunch was served by Mary Peel, Vi Hulley and June Fothergill. 'Masonic Installation Hullett Masonic Lodge A.F. and A.M. No. 568 held their annual installation ceremony on Tuesday, November 22 when Brother Erwin John- ston was installed worshipful Master by installing Master Right worshipful Brother Claire Vincent, with several other lodge members assisting. Sunday School' Crokinole Party There was a good at- tendance on Friday night Novemher 25 at the Sunday School semi-annual crokinole party. With 21 tables in play, winners were: ladies' high, Lena Nesbitt; low, Kerri Shepherd; men's high, Kevin Tamhlyn; low, David Stevenson; most 20, Howard Cartwright. Lunch was served and the S.S. staff would like to thank all who attended and helped in any way. WI Card Party The WI card party was held on Friday, November 25 in the hall with eight tables in play. Winners were: ' ladies' high, Elsie Shaddick; lone hands, Anne Overholt; low Hazel Reid; men's high, Ted Fothergill; lone hands, Saidie McDonald (playing as a man); low, Gordon Murray; lucky chair, Vi Howes. There will be another party next week, December 9. In charge will be Dora .Shobbrook, Elma Jewitt and June Fothergill. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Hunking and her mother, Mrs. Bell of Blyth visited on Sunday, November 20 with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Miller, Shakespeare. Rev. McDonald, Norman Alexander and Laura Forbes attended the Presbytery meeting at Grand Bend November 15. WI members attending Clinton W.I. on Thursday were Dora Shobbrook, Hattie Wood,'Addie Hunking, Myrtle Fairservice, Marjorie Anderson, Alice Buchanan and Margaret Taylor. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Riley on Sunday were his sister Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hugill, Clinton. Mrs. Verena Bone of 'Wingham spent last week with her brother Mr. and Mrs. Howard Clarke. She returned home. with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Griffith, who visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Clark. On December 5th UCW are holding their Christmas meeting with a pot luck supper at 6:30 pm in the church hall, bring a friend. There will he a white elephant table. ' By Mary Chessell • Gets his Goat Did anyone happen to see Grant Webster leading a large billy goat up the Ban- nockburn Hill early one Sunday morning recently? Mr. Goat had wandered down to Geo. Wilson's and taken up residence on their veranda. When they tried to go to the barn, they weren't too . sure whether he wanted to play or was bent on defending his territory. Apparently it was all bluff, as he's never shown a tendency towards aggressiveness. Congratulations to Ervin and Helen Keys who had a baby girl on Sunday morning. Websters Honored Cheryl and Linda Webster have had their Colonel Ibbotson Leonard Scholar- ships renewed for another year. In addition, Cheryl was awarded the Dr. and Mrs. Rodney Poisson book prize for the highest standing in second year Honours English. Grant and Elva attended a reception for families of scholarship and prize winners in the Great Hall at Western University, then treated their girls to dinner at the Friar's Cellar. Later in the evening they visited Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
