Baptists have family supper
The Bayfield Baptist
a Church held their annual
Church family supper,
combined with a farewell for
the Pastor, Rev. Brian
Harrison, Mrs. Harrison and
Matthew and Stephen who
are leaving soon.
Friday ' evening, in the
Sunday School rooms which
were tastefully decorated for
Christmas, the members,
adherents and special guests
sat down to a very bountiful
pot luck supper.
poThe program following was
in charge of Bruce Nicholson,
with Muriel Snider at the
piano. All of the candles were
lit and the lights turned off,
while Ann Chapman led in the
singing of a number of
favourite Christmas Carols,
after which Cathi Cullen and
Diana Harrison sang a lovely
duet, "It will be worth it all".
Bruce Nicholson then
•
welcomed all the special
guests who were all former
members, Mr. and Mrs,
Merle Switzer, Maxine and
Kevin (now of Goderich), Mr.
and Mrs. Gary Renaud and
son, also from Goderich and
Rev. Larry Bigelow, Mrs.
Bigelow, former pastor here
and now pastoring in
Collingwood and their son,
John, from London.
Pastor Bigelow brought a
short message, which he took
from the nineteenth chapter
of Luke, the story of Zac-
chaeus,`who was so small he
had to climb a tree to see
Jesus, 'because of the
pressure of the crowds.
Pastor and Mrs. Harrison
favoured with a duet
"Blessed Redeemer" which
had been requested, but was
certainly enjoyed by all.
"Happy Anniversary" was
sung for Mr. and Mrs, Bob
Spiers who were celebrating
their 17th wedding an-
niversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Harrison
were presented with a card
and a gift after which there
were gifts distributed to all.
Mrs. Bigelow and her
daughter, Cathi Cullen, sang
a duet, "Jesus, Wonderful
Lord" which was much ap-
preciated and brought back
memories of when they all
lived here among us.
The wonderful evening then
ended with a few more Carols
and the wee ones singing,
"Stop, and let me tell you
what the Lord has done for
me", and Pastor Harrison
closing with prayer.

News of the Baptist Church
41 The Baptist Church held
their regular Sunday morning
services with Rev. David
Jamieson and his wife as
guest speakers. They are with
the Baptist Mid -Missions and
have been serving in
Jamaica, but because of
,political unrest have had Jo
leave there, they had to train
the nationals to take over the
schools, .churches arid Bible
• colleges.
There are still a few
missionaries in Jamaica but
they too will have to leave as
soon as the necessary visas
and papers can be processed.
They are going to replace a
Pastor of a church there who
will be retiring.
They asked for our prayers
for the responsibilities of the
Government demands there
that they will have to adhere
to and of course, for their own
job of bringing others to know
and accept the Lord.
0
Sunday evening, Pastor
Brian Harrison gave an in-
spiring message, continuing
in the Book of Joshua, in
chapter 13. He compared the
"Promised Land" that God
gave the Israelites to the joys
and peace and all the
blessings that those who
accept Christ will receive.
Immediately following the
service, there was a service
of Baptism with two can-
didates going through .the
waters of Baptism which was
a very beautiful and im-
pressive ceremony. The
Pastor closed with prayer.
.The weekly Bible Survey
class entertained, their
teacher -guide, Pastor Brian
Harrison and Mrs. Harrison
to a steak dinner at the
Ponderosa in Stratford on
Saturday evening. This class
has been doing an indepth
study of the Bible. They have
greatly enjoyed it and deeply
SEIKO
appreciated Pastor Harrison
taking time in his very busy

In the classroom was a
large rug on the floor, large

sitting in the chair and her
pupils were laying .on the
floor and on the chesterfield.
