There could bo no offer more fair than that of the proprietors of Hagyard's Yellow Oil, who hays long offered to refund every cent expended for that remedy if it fails to give satisfaction on fair trial for rheumatism, neuralgia, sore throat and all painful com- plaints. A 12 -year old daughter of Wm. Hudson, Tuokeramith, died the other day as the result of a blow behind the ear by a stone from her brother's sling, Hiram Purdy, of Delewrire, has signified his intention of applyiug to the Dominion Parliament this session for a demise from his wife Ayer's Sarsaparilla; the first blood medicine to prove a real success, still holds the first placeiu public estimation, both at home aiici abroad. Its miraculous cures, and immense sales show this. HE SHOOK IT "I was subject to ague for two or three Reasons, which nothing would eradicate until I tried Burdock Blood Bitters, eiuco wbieh time, four years, I have had no return of the disease." W. J. Jordan, Strange, Ont. A proposal is made in Wingham to atilt the Ontario Legislature to appoint a police magistrate. When a cold or other cause checks the se- cretory organs, their natural healthy action should be restored by the use of Ayer's Pills, and inflammatory material thereby removed from the system. Much suffering may be prevented by thus correcting those slight de- rangements which, otherwise, develop into settled disease. The Michigan Central railway is to be extended from St. Thomas to London. It will be in running order before very long. Good Value. Many sufferers buying medicine have been disappointed, don't give up, buy a reliable article iike Dr. Chase's Liver Cure, and with it you get a recipe beak alone worth the money. AN OBSTINATE CASE. "In the spring of '83 I was nearly dead, as everybody around niy neighborhood knows. My trouble was caused by obstinate consti- pation. One bottle of Burdock Blood Bitters cured me entirely." This statement is made by Walter Stinson, of Gorrie, Oat. A. wolf was shot on Monday last ou Black. wood's farm, Galt and Hespeler road, by Mr. Cain. Scott. Very palatable and easily digested. Dr. S. W. Cohen, of Waco, Texas, says : "I have used your Emulsion in Idfautile wasting. It not only restores wast- ed tissues, lfut gives strougth and increases the appetite." JOYFUL NEWS. It is certainly glad tidings to the poor in- valid to be informed of a remedy that will give prompt and sure relief in case of pain- ful suffering. Such a remedy is Hagyard's Yellow Oil, adapted for external and internal use in all aches, pains, lameness and sore- ness, It cares rheumatism, neuralgia, sore throat, croup and all inflammatory pains. From suoh a belt ex- tending across the farm, the owner can out every year, as soon as it grows up, far more money's worth, and that without the labor of growing, than the same land will ever produce in crops, For the day is, unfortun- ately rapidly approaching, when all such woods will be very dear. At present, over much of the country, quantities of good wood are forced into the market by the necessities of the owners, and while this is done the price stays low. But the stook is exhausted in many places, and at the present rate, soon will be iu all. In twenty years a farm of good ceoond growth will be worth fifty clear- ed farms. Yours Etc., R. W. PHIPPS. Toronto, March 17th, 1887. FRANK LESLIEE'S POPULAR MONTHLY FOR APRIL. For a public man, who has served the country iu the Cabinet and the Diplomatic service as Minister at the great European courts, and a8 her ablest and most Philosophic historian, George Bancrost is little known to the majority of readers, so far as his personality is concerned. The open- ing article in Frank Leslie's Popular Month- ly for April, presents him to us as he is, and the sketoll by Ausburn Towne is extremely clever. Au article on Modern English Ar- tists, by Lily Riggin, is worth reading by our wealthy patrons, who are sometimes beguiled by a temporary reputation of an artist to purchase at extravagant figures, which the sober criticism of time puts down at medi- ocrity. The Voyage Down the Red Sea is cleverly told by Colonel C. Chaille Long, whose k towledge of Egyptian matters is so wide, and shows great personal observa- tion and s ill in describing. "Life's Little Things," is a curious sketch that will interest many, "Au Imp of Darkness," is a pleasant description of our "Bottled Owl" told by Dr. W. Van Fleet. Other articles tell us of Heidelberg," of "The Telescope and 11s Revel- ation." The stories, of which there aro several, by Mrs. Helen W. Pierson, Millie W. Carpenter, J. F. Alstor and others, are extremely good reading, while the interest of . the strange story, "The Man Outside," in- creases steadily. • TTews Notes. Mi. Cargill has been nominated as the candidate of the Tory party. Mr. R. Truax, of Walkerton, was selected by the Liberals. The election takes place ou Saturday next. The official court of the election in Cari- boo district for the House cf Commons gives Reid (Con.) 145, and Feeltion (Lib.) 105 votes ; majority for Reid, 40. The agitation for the discontinuance of Sunday funerals has induced the authorities of St. James' Cemetery and the Necropolis, Toronto, to close these grounds against Sun- day funerals from April 1, except in cases of extreme necessity. Saturday night two travelers form Mon. treal, missed the ferry from Windsor to Detroit, and hired a small boat to take them across. Loud cries for assistance were sub- sequently heard, and these died away into piteous wails. It is believed the boat cap- sized and both were drowned. The Coburg council, by a vote of five to three, has passed the following motion : In- asmuch as the Scott Act has seriously im- paired tine revenue of the town and has not produced the results antxoipated by its pro. meters, —resolved, therefore, that this conu- cil do petition Parliament for a repeal of the said Act. The yaehting rnco across the Atlantic ocean• between the "Coronet" and "Daunt- less," was most successful. The "Coronet's" record is 14 days 19 house and 3 minutes in crossing tholocean, and the time made by the "Dauntless" is 16 clays 1 hour 43 minutes and 13 seconds. The time would have beeu mach faster had there not been a heavy head wind, The recent buntings of hotels have led to all sorts of suggestions as to means of escape for guests.
