with our Branch Chaplain,
Rev. Bennett leading us in
prayer, praise, responsive
Psalm, remembrance and
dedication. Rev. Father
Hardy led us in prayer for
pardon and the Lord's Prayer
and read to us the lesson for
the day.
Assistant Chaplain, Rev.
John Oestreicher led us in
prayer for thanksgiving and
intercession and delivered a
thought provoking in-
spirational address. The
auditorium was filled to
capacity.
We wereespecially pleased
with the turnout of Brownies,
Guides.oCubs and Scouts both
for the parade and service.
Many thanks to their leaders
for support and participation.
Actions such as these shall
surely bring our community
closer together.
Our thanks to those
veterans and our Ladies'
Auxiliary who participated in
the parade, in spite of the cold
miserable weather. But as
one veteran remarked, "we
lived for months in' weather
like this in trenches and
tents." Our band and color
party led the parade to the
Cenotaph.
Comrade Sgt. -at -Arms,
Percy. Brown was the parade
marshall; Comrade J. K.
Cornish read the Roll of
Honor for the 1914-18 war and
Comrade Bob Campbell read
theRoll of Honor for the 1939-
45 war. John Wise bugled the
Last Post and John Stevely
the Lament. Our thanks to all
these people fof. a job well
done under trying conditions.
Many wreaths were laid and
I'm sure many silent prayers
were offered during the
ceremonies.
Our Ladies' Auxiliary did a
tremendous job in serving us
delicious hot food all af-
ternoon. Thanks ladies! At
about 12:30 p.m., a contingent
of Legion Men proceeded to
the Cemetery and led by
Branch Chaplain Rev.
Bennett prayers of
remembrance and dedication
were said for our departed
Comrades:, : President John
Deeves laid the wreath by the
grave side.
On the evening of
November llth, the
auditorium was again filled
with veterans, friends and
their ladies for a 25th an-
niversary dance com-
memorating the building of
the Legion Hall. Excellent
selection of music was
provided by the Music
Makers, and ; everyone
seemed to have a very en-
joyable time. Our thanks go
to Milt and Mabel Schrieber
who handled ; the bar and

Saturday evening saw the
Country Singles Club out in
force, The auditorium was
again filled to capacity. The
highlight of that evening was
a visit from our Legion Pipe
Band who entertained the
Singles Club during an in-
termission, after which the
Singles Club executive
president, Betty Cardno and
treasurer Irene Okahashi
presented the band with a
cheque for $200 which will be
used in paying for the pur-
chase of new uniforms.
Another highlight occurred
when one member of the
Singles Club donated $100 to
the band to witness the age
old adage "wonder what's
under the kilt" which was
'graciously performed by a
member of the band.
On Sunday morning, the
pipe band, color party and
several members of the
Legion proceeded to Bayfield
to participate in a Remem-
brance Service at the
Anglican Church conducted
by Branch Chaplain Rev.
Bennett, after which a parade
to the Cenotaph took place,
followed by the laying of
wreaths.
