• Lions host
ladies night
The Londesboro Lions held
their regular meeting in the
hall with 98 per cent at-
tendance. This meeting was
ladies night and they were
served a delicious roast pork
supper by the WI.
After the meal, they were
entertained by Howard and
Marjorie Cartwright, who
showed a film of their trip to
Meliro and the southern
States. The meeting closed
with the Lions roar.

Explorer expedition
The meeting was opened
with the Explorer song and
purpose. Debbie Preszcator
and Brenda Popp showed' the
emblem and Carol Dougherty
showed the Explorer pic-
ture. There was only one
person absent on the roll.
Mrs. Wright talked to the
girls about the Caribbean.
Afterwards they had a
ceremony of the stars and
made beeswax candles. The
girls played a game and then

Sunday, November 13, the
guest speaker will be Miss
Glenda Dickson, Niger, a
missionary. She will speak at
the morning service and will
give an illustrated talk at 8
p.m. in our Gospel Today
services.
Annual ladies night
AF and AM, No. 568 Hullett
held their annual ladies night
on November 21 when the
UCW of Londesboro served a
hot turkey dinner to 62 guests.
WM Ted Overholt was the
master of ceremoniesand
following a toast to the Queen,
Rev. Harold Snell led in the
grace.
Following dinner a toast
was given to the Grand
Chapter by WM Ov,erholt and
it was replied to by Clare
Vincent. A toast to the ladies
was given by Gary Jewitt and
Anne Overholt replied.
The UCW were given a vote
of thanks for the lovely
dinner.
After the dinner, Ervin
Johnston introduced Dave
Kemp from Clinton who
teaches in Goderich. He
showed slides and talked on
when he taught school at
Baffin Island. He showed
their way of life, fishing,
hunting, catching whales and
the curhag and drying of
hides. He also had old bones
on display and he answered
questions.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack DeJong on
the accidental death of their
daughter Nancy on October

admitted to the Clinton Public
Hospital on Sunday with a

Robert Shaddick returned
home on Thursday after
spending two weeks in the
western provinces buying
cattle.

Wednesday night. They then
visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Crawford in Blyth.
Mrs. Allen Shaddick spent
Friday to Saturday in Toronto
attending a 'mass conference
for teachers.

Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Longman.

Dresden, spent the weekend

Miss Edythe Beacom
returned home on Monday
after spending a week in the
Stratford Hospital following
surgery on a broken ankle.
