160 Separate teachers attend devekpiiient day ;_
By Wilma Oke
"It's not a matter of doing
but a matter of being -- the
kind of people we are," was.
the way Bishop John Sherlock
of London spoke of people to
the 160 separpte school
teachers from Huron and
Perth counties attending the
professional development
day in . Dublin Monday,
October 17.
"We need to be a people
who truly love God and our
neighbour — a people who are
open to God in love, and
experience it in our own lives
and spear convincingly to
others," he said.
At the day long program
held in St. Patrick's School in
Dublin with the theme, What
Makes Our Schools Catholic,
Bishop Sherlock contrasted
covenant and contract. He,
saidour relationship with
God is a pa'Ssionate love af-
fair — not a deal where we
give a little and get a little.
He said God loves us
totally, unconditionally and
utterly and he calls on us to
return it in the same manner.
He said people who have that
experience want to share this
with our children.
