Welcoming into the Narthex were Lorne Hunking and *Garnet Wright and the ushers were Kevin Fothergill, Danny Jewitt, Kevin Tam'blyn and Mark Mitchell, -Following the baptismal hymn, Mrs. Margaret Whyte, clerk of the session invited the parents to present their children to Rev. McDonald "04 or baptism. Presented were: ark Graham, son of Murray and Joan Shepherd; Donna Jean, daughter of Floyd and Margaret Smith and Jeffrey Allan, son of Harvey and 'Sandra Stewart. Junior congregation teachers • were Ruthann Penfound and Bev Riley, Rev. McDonald's message was "seeing the invisible". Prior to sacrament the choir sang "Let u,s break bread" with Mrs. Allen Shaddick choir leader and Mrs. Glenn McGregor organist. Serving sacrament assisting Rev. McDonald were Dennis Fothergill and Kevin Hulley, serving the bread were Earl Gaunt, Reg Lawson, Bert Shobbrook and Margaret Taylor and serving the wine were Emerson Hesk, Jack ghee, Harry Snell and Jack amblyn. The flowers on the memoriam stand were placed • in loving memory of Mrs. Wm. Dodds of Seaforth by the family. She was the grand- mother of Glenn and Louise McGregor. The messengers met in the Sunday School rooms during church time. Mrs. 'John Radford was the leader. n xplorers The meeting was, started with the Explorer song and purpose and Lisa Duizer and Marni ' Gibbings read the meaning of the Emblem. D wn Flynn showed the 1plorer picture, Mrs. Wright gave a Bible quiz and Mrs. Duizer read •-a story "hbw the Bible came -to us". Cheryl Lyon read three verses of Psalms. Nominating and voting followed: Laurel Duizer, chief Explorer; - Suzanne Ta mb_iyn, keeper of the' log; and Dawn Flynn, keeper of the treasury. The next meeting Brenda Nesbitt and Laurel Duizer will have the scripture and games. There are two suggestions for recreation either bowling or a cook out. Coasters were made and the meeting closed with the Explorer prayer. Londesboro 3, 4-H The Apple Dumpling. Gang's first meeting was held Monday night September 19th at the home of Marjorie Duizer. The election of of- ficers was held with the ,\ following results: president, \Barb Glousher; vice president, Julie Snell; secretary, Carol Cartwright; treasurer, Judy Mason; press reporter, Helen Kolkman. A discussion' was held 'on Vitamin C and fruit and the meeting then closed. The second meeting was 4 144 held at the home of Judy Datema. The roll call was name one fresh Ontario grown fruit that you have eaten. Judy demonstrated how to section an orange and the group made baked appLes and fruit cup. Personals Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Willis Bromley on the death of her father, Mr. Jim Handy, Clinton. Traci Mitchell returned home on Thursday after having an appendectomy Monday in Wingham and District Hospital.' Mr. Jim Scott Sr. was admitted to Clinton Public Hospital on Monday Sep- tember 26th. Mrs. Beth Knox ac- companied by Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Carter and Miss Ruth Shaddick, Clinton enjoyed a Muskoka bus trip last weekend going to Midland, Sudbury, Cleveland House Minett then to Manitoulin Island. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Allen spent several days last week at Sudbury and Manitoulin Island. Regal, Chapter O.E.S. Worthy Matrons project to help crippled chillren - draw was won by Shirley Lyon, 1st prize a large terrarium and 2nd prize Ruth Shaddick, two hand crocheted cushions. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Alexander and Grant Snell from the area attended "come to the fair" a Stewardship Unit meeting in Mitchell on Oct. 1. Mr. and Mrs. Cy Murrell of Orangeville visited on the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Orville Kelland and attended the London area Women's Institute 63rd annual con- vention at the Sandpiper Inn, Vanastra, September 28th and 29th. Others attending the banquet on Thursday were Nona Pipe, Hazel Reid, Beryl Reid,. Alice Buchanan, Ruth Vincent, Marjorie Duizer and Hattie Wood. The Berean Unit of the- UCW will hold their meeting on October 11 at 2 p.m. in the ehurch hall. The WI family affairs:, meeting will be held at 8 p.m. on October 12 with the 4-H members and their mothers. The guest speaker will be Huron County Home Economist, Miss Bird. Roll call will be "something you are learning from the younger generation." Mr. and Mrs. $ert Shob- brook ,were Thanksgiving guests of their daughter Mr. and Mrs. Ron Ellerby, Clinton on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Smith and girls of London visited on the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stewart and attended the baptizing of Donna Jean Smith in the Londesboro United Church. Mr. and' Mrs. Bob Burns visited with the.family of the late Wm. Scarr at Port Elgin on Friday afternoon. Margaret Taylor and Addie Hunking attended the WI Huron County, Rally on Monday, October 3rd at Eakelet.
