their best years ever at their annual Penny Sale, which
concluded last Saturday. Here Mrs. Mary McEwan, left,

Area man heads WOAA
Hugh Hodges of Clinton has
accepted a call to be Minor
Hockey chairman for the
Western Ontario Athletic
Association for the coming
w inter.
After a five month search,
the WOAA was successful lin
getting Hodges to take the
post. He will co-ordinate all
the minor hockey in the area.
The WOAA's minor hockey
annual meeting will be held in
the Wingham Town Hall on
Wednesday, October 19 at 8
p.m., the WOAA advised in
their newsletter, while the
annual meeting of the ladies
hockey group will be held
tonight, September 29, also at
the'W ingha m Town Hall at 8
p.m. This is a very important
meeting as there are 14
proposed amendments to the
constitution.

The annual meeting of the
whole WOAA will take place
this year on Saturday,
November 5 at the Wingham
Legion with the social hour
starting at 5:30 p.m. A dinner,
a business session and the
election of officers will follow.
Sorority social
The combined chapters of
Beta Sigma Phi held a suc-
cessful social night on Sep-
tember 20 at the home of
Mary Marsh.
The party followed a
Mother Goose theme with
nursery rhyme games and
contests. It gave everyone a
chance to make new frien-
dships and enhance some old
ones.
The evening was attended
by 18 members and guests.

Clinton 14-H
Meeting three of the Clinton
1 4-H Club was held on
Monday September 26 at the
home of Mrs. Dorothy
Boughen.
The meeting opened with
the 4-H pledge. Everyone
then adjourned to the. kitchen
where Mrs. Boughen
demonstrated the making of
Strawberry Bavarian Cream.
Everyone then answered
the roll call Which was: show
the labels, samples, or pic-
tures of processed fruits and
tell one way each is served.
It was decided that the
next meeting is to be held on
Monday, October 3 at the
home of Barb Forbes.
Mrs. Boughen and Mrs.
Brandon discussed frozen
fruit, using frozen fruit, dried
fruits and using dried fruit.
After this the strawberry
bavarian cream was served
and all members enjoyed it. -
