Prices were higher and
demand was active at the
Hensall Sales Barn last
Thursday. Supply consisted
mainly of heifers and steers.
Fat cattle: heifers, $91.50 -
$45, top to $47; steefS; $44.50 -
$48.85, top to $49. Pigs:
weanlings, $32 - $38.50;
chunks $92.50 - $47,

United Church was conducted
by Rev. Don Beck on Sunday
preaching on the subject,

The 15 voice choir, led by
• Mrs':7 John Turkheim at the
organ sang "Cups of Cold
Water". Next Sunday, World
Wide Communion will be
celebrated at the service.
4-H clubs
Featuring Fruit is the topic
for this Fall's 4-H chaibs.
Hensill I met Tuesday,
September 20 in the evening
at the home of Dianne Ger-
stenkorn with nine girls
answering the roll call.
Sharon Hoffman is the
assistant leader. Fruit in
general was discussed.
Fruit in the daily diet gives
vitamin C which is needed for
prevention of disease. They
made date mallow chews and
hot apple juice drink which
was sampled by all members
at the end of the meeting. The
4 members chose the name of
'Apple Dumpling Gang" for
is club.

On Wednesday, September
21 the Hensall 111 4-H club had
their first official meeting at
Janet Blake's house.
Officers are: president,
Vicky Mann; secretary,
Janet Bilke; .treasurer,
Valerie Baker; press
reporter, Rebecca Jantzi.
The name is still ,undecided.
The club made grape
sparkle and apricotpalls.
Hensall II 4-H club met at
the home of Joyce Pepper on
Tuesday, September 20 for,
their first, meeting with 10
members present. Ideas for
the name of the club and for
their books and covers were
discussed.
The officers were elected at '
the organizational meeting
held previously. The leaders
demonstrated making grape
sparkle and the members
testkd apricot &hi's and date
mallow chews.
Social notes
On Tuesday, September 27,
Mr, and Mrs. Arie Roobal reft
for Holland after staying with
Mr. and Mrs. Sim Roobal for
six weeks.
While here they visited with
relatives and friends of the
Roobals in Seaforth, Clinton,
Goderich, Atwood, Stratford,
Kitchener, Bradford,
Ridgetown and Chatham.
Their stay here was a little
disappointing due to illness
and poor weather conditions.

appreciative of Canada and
