More than 2,000 man-hours has gone into the 29 -foot
sailing sloop prototype being manufactured by a new
area building firm, Woodco Boats. The handmade sloop
features an inlaid teak deck, stainless steel and
aluminum fittings, and a brand new technique for
fastening the wood together, that eliminates several
hundred pounds of screws. The firm hopes to go into
production following a showing at the Toronto Boat Show
