Stan McDonald officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Falconer of RR5 Clinton and the groom is the son of Mrs. Elma Jewitt of Clinton and the late Wilbur Jewitt. Given in 'marriage by her father, Jean carried an arm bouquet of long-stemmed pink roses and wore a polyester satin gown with a V - neckline trimmed with lace. The gown featured an empire waistline gathered at ,the hack to form a long train. She wore a headpiece with a short veil. Mrs. June Corriveau, sister of the bride, was matron of honour. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Kathy Westbrooke; friend of the bride and Miss Robin Chamberlain, friend of the bride and the flowergirl was . Miss Jennifer Jewitt, Clinton niece of the groom. Their gowns were melon polyester with matching . capes. They carried bouquets of dried flowers. - Best man was Bev Jewitt, brother of the groom. Ushers were Maurice Nesbitt, friend of the groom and Leslie Falconer, brother of the bride. Shawn McClinchey was the ringbearer. Mrs. Gail Lear was organist and Bette Jewitt sang "For All We Know" and "Follow Me". The bride's mother's dress was a semi -fitted mushroom brown gown. She wore a corsage of red roses. The groom's mother's dress was an emerald green dress with a yellow rose corsage. A dinner was held at Ontario Street United Church followed by a reception at Vanastra Recreation Centre. The couple left on a honeymoon trip to Quebec City. The couple will reside in Newmarket, Ontario. Local obituaries Ernest John Huller Ernest John Huller, brother of Mrss. Florence Oliver of Clinton, passed away at Memorial Hospital, Georgetown September 5 1977, in his 83rd year, following a brief illness, He was born in Holmesville in 1895 to the late George and. Maude Huller. Ernest spent his early teens sailing on the Great Lakes and in 1914 enlisted with the 161st Bat- tal•ior,,"4a'ter transferring to the 33rd Battalion. He served some three years overseas and after being wounded twice, was forced to return to Canada. In 1919, he married Isobella Martin of Belfast, "Ireland after which he became a CPR station operator and worked chiefly in Northern Ontario until his retirement whey they settled in Georgetown. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Irene Ticknor of Brampton; on sen Walter of Whitby; five grandsons; and one great grandson. 'Funeral service was held at the McLure-Jones Funeral Home on Wednesday Sep- tember 7, with interment in Georgetown Cemetery. The five grandsons and a nephew were pallbearers. Lorna Marjorie Crich Lorna Marjorie Crich died ,in Huronview on September 7 after a month's illness. She was in her 74th ..year. She was born on October 27, 1902 to Abe and Martha Durnin in St. Helens. She lived in St. Helens until she was six years old, then they moved out west until she was 10 years old. They then came back to West Wawanosh. After that they moved to Lucknow and later to Clinton. She was married to Wally Crich in 1925. PHONE 357 1910 RES. 357.1015 Hospital Auxiliary meets The Clinton Women's Hospital Auxiliary met in the ,Board Room Wednesday September 6 with Mrs. Doug Coventry, president, in the chair. Prayer was read in unison and tribute paid to a beloved member, the late Ruby Haddy. Two new members were made welcome, Mrs. .J. Greydanus and Mrs. George Beatty. The minutes of the previous .meeting were read by Mrs. B. •Qlde and the treasurer's report, showing a balance of $1,802.33, was gNen by Miss Kathleen Elliott„ The autumn conference for District two is to be held Monday September 26 in the „Mutual Life of Canada building in the morning and in Kitchener -Waterloo Hospital auditorium in the afternoon. Those wishing to go may phone Mrs. Coventry before September 19. A good at- tendance is hoped for. A meeting of interest to many is to be held Tuesday September 20 in Goderich District Collegiate at 8 p.m. on arthritis. A panel of ex- perts will be present to an- swer questions. The membership drive convened by Mrs. H. Ball brought in 1,241 members and fees of $620.50, showing fine example of teamwork on the part of the committee and a generous response from the public. The draw for the beautiful, afghan made by Mrs. A.J. MCMurray from wool donated by a member, took place at this point and was won by Mrs. H.R. Dobney of Kitchener. This project netted the auxiliary '$200. The following committee reports were given: Mrs. C. Hicks for the candy stripers spoke in glowing terms of the work of these young people. Some 36 continued to work all summer at a service of 50 hours each with enthusiasm and dedication, and are being a splendid help to the hospital. Mrs: J. Cochrane for TV committee reported good' use being made for the''FV's and a small profit received though this service is not considered profit making. For cart stocking, Mrs. Stadden reported $22.21 taken farmed at RR 4, Clinton until 1967, and in 1972 they moved to Fulton Street in'Clinton. In 1976 they moved to Huron - view. They were members of Turners United Church and later transferred to the Ontario Street United Church. Mrs. Crich is survived by het- husband and two sons, Murray of RR 2, Cargill, Ted of Clinton and David of London. She is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Doug (Gail) Fraiser of Egmond- ville, 12 grandchildren ,ohe sister Mrs. Douglas (Doris) Ball of Bayfield and one brother Harold Durnin of Wisconsin. She is predeceased by one daughter Mrs. Carman (Betty) Haines. Funeral services were held on September 10 at Ball Funeral Home with Rev. J. Oestreicher in charge. Interment followed in the Clinton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fred Anderson, Clinton; Doug Hugill, Seaforth; Wayne Hugill, Seaforth; Arnold Hugill, Goderich; George Turner, Seaforth; and John Pickett, Clinton. Flowerbearers were Sandra Crich, RR 2, Cargill; Patricia Crich, RR 2, Cargill; Sharon Crich, RR 2, Cargill; 'Dianne Crich, Clinton; Janie Fraiser, Egmondville. in as profit. Mrs. Westlake'reported for the Bursary fund and reported the following as having received last year's Bursary Awards, Linda Blake, Holmesville, Mary Van der Brand, RR 3, Clinton and Lorie Deller, Brucefield. Favours for the patients' trays for Thanksgiving and Hallowe'en are to be made by the Brownies and Guides. Mrs. Ralph Davidson, Blyth, reported and enlarged upon plans for:the PennySale which is to be held from September 1,5 ,to September •24, 1977. The draw will be made September 24 at°3 p.m. This is one, of the Hospital Auxiliary's main fund-raising projects, as all profits go to the hospital for new equip- ment, furnishing and con- veniences for patients comfort. The continued generosity of the public is hoped for. Couple married on lawn A beautiful wedding ceremony took place August 6, 1977 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Mathers, Clinton. Marriage vows, written by the bride and groom were exchanged between Marilyn Mathers, daughter of Mr. A.H. Mathers, Clinton and Mrs. Yvonne Mathers, Mississauga and Richard Tyndall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Tyndall of Goderich. The bride • and her at- tendants, Elizabeth Baulk,. Stratford, Marlaine Luch, Toronto and Margaret Sauve, Blyth, walked down an aisle of white. wicker stands filled with multi -coloured glads and flowered pillars for the marriage service, under a huge birch tree, officiated.by Rev. John Oestreicher. The bride was gowned in an antique white Victorian gown with a four -tier train and .a matching garden style brim hat. She carried a traditional cascade of orange tiger )fillies, Sonja and orange. matador roses with in- termittent . sprigs of baby's breath. • Her matron of honour and bridesmaids, attired in full length peach colour halter back gowns with matching floral capes, carried wicker The Miller Family of Zurich entertained on Family' Night with a musical concert. The five Miller sisters Donna, Carolyn, Valerie, Angela and Coleetl sing in harmony andtake solo parts. The girls provide their own accompaniment with guitars, tambourine, maracas and drums. They sing popular and sacred music. Mrs. Gus Powell expressed the ap- preciation of the residents for the fine music. Mrs. Elizabeth Rae was welcomed to the Over 90, Club at the September meeting on Wednesday afternoon.. There Kippen Mr, and Mrs. Otto Schack, North Holywood; California, attended church service in St. Andrews Church, Kippen last Sunday. Mrs. Schack was the for- mer Marguerite MacDonald of Kippen.
