The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Cantelon of RR 4, Seaforth and the bride' is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Snell of RR 1, Londesboro. The ceremony was con- ducted by Rev. Stan MacDonald and Mrs. Glen McGregor provided the organ music. Miss Karen Tyndall, a friend of the bride, 'was the soloist. The ' bride, who was escorted up the aisle by her father, wore a silk jersey gown with an attached train. The bodice featured an inset of headed pearl lace which had soft pleats radiating to the shoulder and a V-shaped waistline. The dress collar was a modified Nairoo style with matching soft pleats. She carried a lovely bouquet of assorted flowers with roses intertw ining. Mrs. Ken Slade, a sister of the bride was the matron of honor. She along with the bridesmaids: Julie Snell, sister of the bride; Mrs. John Van Loo; Miss Faye Can- telon, sister of the groom wore mint green silk jersey gowns. The dresses featured cape sleeves, V-shaped neck and were accentuated on the bodices with fabric flowers. They carried sunny bouquets of baby carnations, teardrops and yellow and white daisies. The flowergirl, Susan Snell, a Photo by Philips niece of the bride was dressed similarly to the bridesmaids in a dress fashioned by the bride's mother. Rod Campbell was the groomsman and the ushers were: Wayne Cantelon, brother of the 'groom; Larry Snell, brother of the bride; Ken Slade and Master Mark Cantelon, brother of the groom. Following the ceremony a dinner and reception was held at the White Carnation in Holmesville. The head table was , adorned with a three-, tiered wedding cake created by the mother of the bride. Guests from London, Toronto, Waterloo and the area attended the wedding. The couple will reside in Waterloo. Prior to the wedding, the bride was feted by. a number of showers: a surprise shower by St. Marys nursing friends in Kitchener; at Mrs. Ray Fisher's in Goderich, an aunt of the bride; by Karen Tyndall, Toronto, Mrs. John Van Loo, Clinton and Mrs. Glen McGregor, Clinton, friends of the bride, held at the home of Mrs. KeitB Tyndall; Mrs. Ewart McPherson, .Lucknow, grandmother of the bride; Mrs. Bruce Keyes, Varna, aunt of the groom ; Mrs. John Elliott's home in Blyth for employee .friends from The Old Mill; Mrs. Harry Lear, Londesboro, a neighbourhood shower. Following the wedding rehearsal a luncheon, was served at the home of Mr. and Ors. George Cantelon. Clintonian club meets The meeting of the Clin- tonian Senior Citizens was held in the council chambers on September 1 with five new members. The membership to vote is 25. The meeting opened with the president, Pearl Cum- mings reading a poem. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and ap- proved and Violet Lampman gave, the treasurer,§ report. Irene Glazier reported for cards and flowers, saying, 25 hospital and 38 home calls had been made during the summer months. The president asked if the club 'had any place they would like to go for their banquet: It was passed that the president would inquire about a place and that it would be held in early November. It was moved by Gladys and seconded by Edna that they pay 50c each for tran- sportation, with final arrangements being• made at the October meeting. All members should make it a point to attend the next two meetings if they are to get a free dinner. The program consisted of readings n by Pearl Cum- mings, Esther Kendall and Josie Cunningham. Mrs. Cummings headed the Dutch auction, winners being Mrs. Mitchel, Mrs. Nivans, Esther Kendall, Margaret Murray, Jessie Jones, Mrs. Mulholland and Violet Lampman. Irene Members of the Christian Reform Church formed a choir for the Sunday evening song service led by Dick Roorda accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Elsie Hen- derson. A group of girls sang two special numbers which were enjoyed by everyone and they provided their own guitar accompaniment. Marie Flynn, Lorne Local obituary Alma C. Lobb A lifetime resident of the area, Alma C. Lobb died in Clinton Public Hospital on September 2. She was in her 78th year. She was born on March 30, 1899 in Goderich Township to Harry and Anne Elliott. In 1919 she married Frederick W. Lobb in Clinton and following their marriage, they lived in Goderich Township until 1973 when they moved to Clinton. Mrs. Lobb was•an active member of the Ontario Street United Church. Mrs. Lobb is predeceased by her husband and survived by two sons, Harry of Toronto and William of RR 2, Clinton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held in September 5 at the Beattie Funeral Home in Clinton with Rev. J. Oestreicher in charge. Pallbearers were Jerry Lobb, Brian Lobb, Rick Lobb, Peter Lobb, Jack Merrill, and Ross Feagan. Flower bearers were Bruce Lobb, Irvine Tebbutt and Susan and Valerie Lobb. Interment followed at the Clinton Cemetery. Lawson, Norman Speir and Cecil Skinner provided the old time music for Monday's activities. Melissa Moffatt, Dawn and Debbie Flynn assisted with vocal and step dancing numbers. The Brussels Pipe Band led by Tom McFarlane en- tertained on family night with a concert on the front lawn. The next meeting will be held October 6 in the Town hall and everyone` is welcome. Pearl Cummings. Violet Managhan and Mrs. Nivans will bring articles for the Dutch auction.
