Cheerio Club meets The Cheerio Club held their meeting on August 24 at 2pm at the home of Mary Longman vOth Mary acting as president. Roll call was answered by 11 members and 2 visitors, Laura Saundercock and Florence Vivian. The September meeting of group 4 will be held on Sep- tember 12 at 2 pm at the home of Doreen Carter. The program included readings by Mary Longman and Ida Durnin. A Contest headed by Ida Durnin was won by Edythe Beacom and naming the most berries by Mary Longman was won by Vi Burns. A few games of euchre and crokinole were played and, lunch was served by Mary Longman and Ida Durnin. Personals Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Carter on the accidental death on Friday of her brother Fred Cook. We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Glazier of Clinton to the village, they having purchased the home of Mrs. Cordon (Mary) Robinson. We also welcome Mr. Bill Kolk- man, Helen, Robert and Steven from Blyth to the new home they built here, Lori Bromley was admitted to Stratford General Hospital on Monday, August 281or ear s u,r,gery. Mrs. Margaret Taman, Brampton spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Armstrong and attended the Johnston -Carter wedding on Saturday. Mrs. Carl McDonald returnded to her home in Atwood on Sunday after spending the past week with her son Rev. McDonald. Mr. and Mrs. Paterson of London spent the weekend with her son Rev. McDonald. Thirty-five children boarded a Murphy's bus and thanks to June Tompkins, the driver, we had a smooth ride to London. Springbank Park provided a beautiful setting for our picnic before entering Storybook Gardens. The children had a' 'great time going on the different rides and seeing all the animals. Thanks to the five mothers and the three older children who came along to help supervise. We would also like to thank all the people who made our White elephant sale a suc- cess, making possible our trip to Storybook.
