Management made the decision after wrestling with a poor financial balance sheet for the last several years and poor fan support. "Lack of finances is the number. one" reason we've MiflOr' ho,ckey.coache,s. folded," said Robert "Doc" Miller, who has managed the team for the last six'years: ' ' The club, which was started in the '1920's, has gone under several times in the past, the latest being 1970. 1Viiller-also blamed the lack of players for this': year's rooster as another reason for throwing in the towel. "With Goderich getting back in (Intermediate "C") this year we would be losing several players, and by the end of the season last year, many other players had lost .interest," Miller said. The Mitchell Red Devils are also going under this season. Along with the' returning Goderich Sailors, Group 4 Qf the ,Ontario Hockey Association Intermediate "C" league will feature the Port Elgin Sunocos, the defending champions, the Lucknow Bulldogs, and a new entry fqrm Howick that, uspd to play in the WOAA. Fergus, Milverton and Harri'ston will return to Group 5 and will be joined by St. Clements from the WOAA and Bradford Packers who played Petrolia Squires in the OHA "C" final last year and lost.
