The senior citizens of Zone 8
(Huron County) , were very
pleasantly surprised when
the Lieutenant -Governor the
Honourable Pauline
McGibbon paid an_ unan-
nounced visit to their picnic
at St. Christopher's Beadh,
Goderich on Sunday.
Mrs, McGibbon i&. the
honorary president of the
Senior Citizens of Ontario and.
was ir}..Goderich to unveil two
historical plaques in town,
.one at tie ,Court House
Square and one at Harbour
Park, in honour of the Queen
Elizabeth's Silver Jubilee and
Goderich's 150th birthday.
In a short speech, the
Honourable McG ibbon said
hello to all assembled , and
wished them well. She also
reminded the group that
although they are senior
citizens they are still able to
contribute to society.
Before leaving she signed'a
get well card to the ailing
zone president, Mrs,. Mary
Gregg
