From up Dere by Shelley McPhee I considered the idea of painting my thumb green, but thought I'd look slightly -abnormal. I even con- sidered giving up completely, but instead of living by the theory, "Quit while you're ahead," I seem to prefer to torture myself and anything with green leaves that comes my way. I've always loved plants and have spent many hours browsing . in florist and plant shops, just, looking., However as soon as one of those plants 4 set in my handS .its•d'ays are numbered. It's n'ot that I don't care for my plants. In fact they keep me in'a constant turmoil, trying to remedy their illnesses and unhealthy attitudes. I've bought books and read about them;I've tried to bridge our communication gap; I've over -watered them; I've under -watered them. - • I've fertilized ,them; I've sprayed"them;; I'.ve put them in the puri ; I've moved them to the shade, but they "persistently continue to make me out as a murderer. Baby's Tear are. my favorite victim and I've non - intentionally killed rnany lovely pots of them. My Spider Plant has just turned against me after a year's friendship and my neurotic Asparagus Fern is con- stantly threatening me that it wilydie, but never does. My one main accomplishment is my Philodendren. Phyllis has been with me for a number of years and is a cutting from an old family plant. She has always been faithful to me, has taken a lot of abuse but has never threatened to leave. Another, my only c,her, achievement with plants has been with my ornery Gardenia. After months of deciding she finally grew a flower. Perhaps this is not the most amazing conquest, but for me, to make something grow is a rniracle. In the meantime my Impatience has lost its patience my Gloxinia has forgotten what it's sup- posed to look like and even my Cactus has died. " That's a sure sign of failure, when your cactus dies. I don't un- derstand what this means, can you explain., please? In spite of itsname.-such a clause in a lease refers neither to noise, nor to enjoyment. A covenant for quiet en- joyment means that you will have peaceful possession of the premises, without fear of being thrown out of possession, either by the landlord or any of his agents. A covenant for quiet en, joyment can only be enforced against the person who made it. If, for example, the lan- dlord defaulted on his mor- tgage and lost the building, you could: be evicted by whoever held the mortgage. You would however, be able to sue the landlord in damages, for his breach of the covenant for "quiet enjoyment." t &Son T. Can you tell me if this is correct, and if so, what models are affected? To the best of our knowledge only two models are involved, both of them sold by Sears. The trouble lies in a metal post under the seat which could push through causing possible injury. The numbers on the I.D. labels on these machines are, 16628260, 16629680 & 59228260. Replacement parts will be made by Sears without 'charge. The company cautioned NOT to use the cycles until the seats and posts have been replaced.
