Lawn Bowling club have been
a very busy place this
summer, with good weather
and enthusiastic bowlers
combining to make some
exciting play.
Last Wednesday was no
Stanley Twp.
The regular monthly
meeting• of the Stanley
Township recreation com-
mittee was` held July 27th at
the Ball Park following a
men's slow -pitch exhibition
game.
The team has been having
good crowds out to watch
their regular Saturday games
and exhibition Wednesday
night games. At the meeting
it was suggested that more
bleachers could be built
behind the screen to `ac-
commodate spectators.
Work has pretty well been
completed -on the washrooms
and equipment storage
building at the ball field, and
the scoreboard has been
delivered. Ross Whittaker is
supervising getting it up by
this weekend.
The corn roast has been set
for Friday, August 12th at 8
p.m. at the ball park. There
will be a men's ball game
played against the Bluewater
team first, followed by the
corn roast.
All the corn -on -the -cob you
can eat will be supplied.

Mudges Motocross at Hully
Gully on August 7.
The Motocross Action will
feature some 300 riders
competing in senior, expert,
schoolboy and junior classes

also features the old timers

The Clinton Soccer Club
once again proved itself a
magnanimous host during
its Third Annual Soccer
Tournament held on Monday
August lst which drew, four
teams - Stratford F.A,G.. now
in Lbndori and District First
Division, St, Coltimban,
Clinton, and defending
champions London Lions, all
from Second Division.
The Lions successfully
defended' the Clinton Cen
tennial Trophy -'donated for
annual competition in 1975.by
Des Cassidy of the Clinton
Hotel - by defeating Stratford
F.A.G. in an exciting final
which capped a full day of
soccer, most of which was
excellent,' and of a high
calibre.
Saturday August 6th sees a
return to regular league play
when Clinton is at home to St.
Columban in a 6 p.m. game at
the Arena.

Cummings. John is an in-
structor and coaches the
swim team. He lives in
Wingham. He is quite active
in all school sports. These
include basketball, volleyball
and badminton John was '
athletic convenor on the
student council.
Academically, John was a
member of the Reach for the
Top Team. John after
completing Grade 13 plans to
go the the University of
Western Ontario in their
Science Program.
Mary Anne is an instructor
and lives in Clinton. She too is
quite active in sports. She has
excelled in High School to •
receive both the Junior and
Senior Most Outstanding
Athlete Award.
Mary Anne is also
active on the Ontario i►
Student's Council were she is
a member of the executive.
After completing Grade 13,
Mary Anne plans to go into
