During the afternoon a very interesting program of sports - was conducted by 1VIr: -and- Mrs. Gerald Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. George Townsend and. Mr. and Mrs'. Larry McClinchey. , Results of the sports were as follows; maces 1 and un- der, Johnatholn Hugill, Sonya. McClinchey s hogs 4-6, Doug, Crich reunion held Hugill, Murray Townsend; girls. 4-6, Carrie Lynn Baker, Jodie Hugill; boys 7-9, Scott Townsend, Lloyd Crich;; girls '7-9, Bonnie Turner. Boys' and girls, 10 and up, had a game of lawn bowling and throwing • 'a frisbee through, a hula hoop. The younger children tried their luck at putting a ball through a, hula hoop. All children . enjoyed a candy scramble• he adults enjoyed a game of lawn bowling, song relay 'and aclotb;esline • relay - • guess the value of the coins in a bag was won by Jack Turner; the youngest person, Jane Johnston; the grand- parents with most grand- children at the picnic, Doris Hugill. A delicious barbecued chicken supper• was enjoyed by' all with Murray Crich providing the chicken. A short business meeting. was conducted by the president Doug Hugill. Writing post cards is just one of the many things Florence and 58 other young people are doing over their four week stay in Ontario as part of the annual Lions exchange. (News -Record photo) Mrs. Eric Munroe - of Seaforth was a recent visitor with Mrs. Bertha MacGregor. 41, Mrs. George Bawden of Exeter, who spent a few days with her sister -,in-law Mrs. George Ingram, was taken to University Hospital, London where she is' receiving treatment. Former resident passes Mrs. Victor Stan, of Guelph` passed away in Hamilton General Hospital Hamilton, won Tuesday July 19th, 1977 in her 48th year. She was the former Laura Sangster, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Sangster, and wife of Victor Stan, former Hensel residents. Two sons survive, James of Winnipeg, Man, and Dale at home; daughter-in-law Martha and granddaughter Christina; sister Mrs. Leonard (Minnie) Noakes, Hensall; brothers Dave of Hensall; George of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba; James Sangster of Exeter; sister Mrs. John (Marion) Peebles, London; and • brother John Sangster, Zurich. The funeral service' 'was held from the Wall-Custance Funeral Home, Guelph on Saturday' July 23, 1977 with Rev. Petre Orme of St. George's Anglican Church, Guelph, officiating. Inter- ment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph. Miss Sarah Coleman passes Miss Sarah M.V. Coleman passed away at Hope Haven Nursing Home, Port Hope, July 22,' 1977 in her 55th year. She was the daughter of the (ate Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Coleman of the Hensall area. Three sisters survive, Mrs. Hugh (Annie) Morenz of Dashwood; Mrs. Art ((Mary) Finlayson of Seaforth Mrs. Cliff (Shirley) Dell, Belleville; and one brother, William Coleman of'Kippen. Private funeral service was held Monday July, 25, from the Bonthron Funeral Home Hensall with Rev. Don Beck officiating, Interment was in Exeter Cemetery. .Dr. Fox conducts service Dr. Fox of Huron College London conducted the United Church service in Carmel Presbyterian' Church on Sunday, delivering . _.a 'most informative address.
