The annual Children's Day
was held by the Auburn
Women's IiRstitute in the
Community Memorial Hall
last Tuesday. The meeting
was conducted by president.,
Mrs, Eleanor Bradnock who'
welcomed children, mothers
and members. The meeting
was opened with the Ode, the '
Mary Stewart Collect and 0
Canada with Mrs. Catherine
Jackson at the piano.
, The children's' program
was as follows, solo, Anita
Gross, recorder solo, Old
MacDonald Had A Farm, was
played by Sharon Glousher.
Christine and Rhonda
Stadelmann and Karen,
Plunkett sang a trio, Orie
Little Duck. Melody Sloman
sang a number and Diane
Bromley accompanied on her
guitar Rodney and Robbie
Crich who sang a duet. Tap
dancing ,was done by Angela
Schneider, Carla Hebert,
Joanne Slater and Karen
Whetstone. Claudia Hebert
sang accompanied by Monica
Hebert. Shelley Powell gave
two readings and Diane
Bromley sang a solo ac-
companying herself with her
guitar. Christine and Rhonda
Stadelmann sang a duet,
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
Wendy Powell had an
elimination contest and
Dennis Schneider, was the
winner.
Prizes went to Claudia
Hebert for the lucky glass,
birthday nearest, Anita
Gross, most buttons, Joanne
Slater, handkerchief, Joanne
Slater, anniversary nearest,
Mrs. Gordon Gross and birth-
day nearest, , Mrs. Robert
Peck.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
John Stadelmann, Mrs.
Gordon Powell, Mrs. George
Hebert and Mrs. Ian Clark. '
Following lunch a meeting
was held after the children
went to the playground for
games, The, minutes were
accepted as read by the
secretary, Mrs. Robert Peck.
She also gave the financial
statement. The card report
prepared by "Mrs, Andrew ,
Kirkconnell was given , and
thank -you notes read.
The members deckled to
again sponsor the 4-H
program fall • project
Featuring Fruit, Plans were
made to hold the next
meeting at the home of Mrs.
Robert Peck at 2 p.m. Mrs.
Leonard Archambault and
Mrs. Thomas Haggitt will be
in charge of contests and a
social hour will be enjoyed
following the dessert lun-
cheon.
Mrs. Leonard Archam-
bault, public relations officer
gave out medallions from_
Murray Gaunt which was to
observe Queen Elizabeth's
Silver Jubilee. The meeting
was closed by singing the
Queen. •

last Monday with Mrs. Bell
Allen.
Mr. and Mrs. Lyman
Jardin of Toronto visited
recently with Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Jardin.
Mr. Wilfred Collinson is
home after being hospitalized
with injury to his hand.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Haines of
Niagara Fall's visitekl last
week with his parents Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Haines.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Cartwright, Donald, Derrick
and Lorie ° vacationed last
week at Kirkland Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Bud Chamney,
spent last weekend at Bob-
caygeon and attended the

Ila Pearl McGee
Ila Pearl McGee of .RR 3,
Clinton died on July 15 at the
Clinton Public Hospital. She
was 81 years -old.
Formerly Ila Johnston, the
daughter of the late William
and Elizabeth Johnston,
in Hay Township and
Bayfield until she married
Leonard McGee,, then moved
to Goderich Township.
She . is survived by her
husband and her, children,
Mrs. Robert (Pearl) Hart-
man .of RR 1, Bayfield; Mrs.
Ralph (Annie) Hartman of
RR 3, Clinton, George of
Hepworth, and. Harvey of
Edmonton. She is also sur-
vived by 16 grandchildren, 12
great grandchildren and one
brother, Cecil Johnston of
Kitchener.
Funeral services were held
at Ball Funeral Home in
Clinton on July 18 with Peter
Zimmerman of Chesley, in
charge. Interment followed at,
the Clinton cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bert Box
of Woodham, Fred Gibson of
Clinton, Jim Jackson of
Clinton, August De Groof of
Clinton, Elmer Trick of
Clinton and Ken Jackson of
Seaforth.
