Luise Hermanutz and
Sandra Finlay are involved.
with planning and main-
taining nature trails at the
Hullett Wildlife Management
Area, for the Ministry of
Natural Resources, under the
supervision of Rene Jones.
These girls clean up the
existing trails, and ensure the
trails are easy to follow by
making signs, clipping
branches, etc. Sandra and
Luise are also in the process
of planning new trails. They
have. to survey the bush,
identifying the points of ,in7__
terest, marking and clearing,
the new trails. These trails
are being developed for the
"enjoyment, relaxation,
stimulation and- education",
for visitors. .

systems: The loop systems
allow families to take long or-
short
r„'short walks, depending on the
children's ages, so they can
enjoy the trail.
Pamphlets have been
prepared for the nature en-
thusiast, photographer or

phlets containing wildlife
uses, interesting plants and
animals. .
Luise, 23, a resident of
Guelph, is a , graduate from .
the University of Guelph,
with her Bachelor of Science
in 13otony. She is planning to
return for her Masters in
Systematics.
Sandra, . 19, a resident of.
Lucknow, is a grade 13
graduate o"f F.E. M�idill
Secondary . School in
Wingham. Sandra -has been
accepted at the Centralia
Agricultural College of Food
and Technology. She plans to
study Animal - Health
Technology.

three area projects
Ausable-Bayfield Con-
servation Authority board
accepted three area projects
at .the annual full Authority
meetin recently. .
Purchase of the Elliott
property on the south-west
side of the Highway 4 bridge
in Exeter; will cost the
authority approximately $7-50
according to resource
manager Don Pearson.
The. Authority will pur-
,,. chase the property under
agreement with The. Town of
Exeter with the Town
-responsible for Maintenance
of the property. •
Installation of "gobimat" `
erosion control along the
Exter-dam spillway was also
accepted by the board. The
new erosion control system
will allow flood water to over-
flow .the dam without
scouring the dam slopes.

paying 90, per cent of the
remaining cost., The
Conservation Authority pays
the remaining ten per cent.
The Authority board passed
the project recommendations
following a day -long tour of
the Ausable-Bayfield Con-
servation area. Authority'
Projects cotnpleted within
the last ye'ar were viewed by
25 board members.

busy place last week with a
large machine pressing cars.
They spent a week ,pressing
600 cars, taking them to
Toronto were they will be

We all were sorry to hear, of
Millie and Lew Dempsey's
fire last week. I understand
there was considerable
damage and that they are
working -at the house,
repairing the damage and. are
still able to stay on there.
