Bible School in Vanastra

At,. firtst glance, many
readers may think this article
is about .swimming, but the
w, meaning of the title is
' "Summer- •, Workshop in
Ministry for . Jesus, Others
•
and Yourself."
These, workshops started in
.the early 1960's and involve
an exchange program with
other churches. Teams of
teenagers are sent ail over
North America to do
missionary work,at churches
away from their own home.

tea,At this time there are five
ms in Ontario and -one of
*--. these teas will be working
in the Vanastra Clinton area.
These teenagers learn what
full time mission (Work is like
and the experience enables
them to serve their own home
church better. ' - •
The young,,,,en and women
--involved in the program
donate their time and, in
many cases give up full time
» summerjobs to da this work.
The Workshop program lasts
from five to seven weeks, and
after the summer is over,
these young people return to
their own church where they
tell of their experiences and
give a'slide'presentation.
The members of the team

enter the ministry.

teenagers will be involved in

teaching bible School, and
paying . visits to I-uronview
and Heather Gardens.
Although they are living in
our own community they will
alternate their time between.
Vanastra and Clinton.
By being involved with thjs
-workshop, thcse teenagers
feel that 'they ...will learn-.' to
communicate better with
other people, develop a bond
of closeness and sharing with
each other as a group, and
most important of all, to grow
spiritually. ,
Play equipment
Approximately,,., $100• has
been raised from the .bottle
drive to help buy play
equipment for Circle Park.

Penny carnival
A Penny Carnival is being
held on Friday July .8
beginning at 1 p.m. for•,all the
youngsters of Vanastra. -
There will be games and
contests for the children. A
bicycle and doll buggy parade
will also be held and prizes
awarded for the best
decorated buggy and bicycle.
The fee for entering, this
event is five cents and all
entries `must be at Circle
Park" by 14, noon. All proceeds
from the Penny Carnival will
go towards buying park
equipment.

MacDonald, passed away at
Peel -Memorial Hospital
Brampton on June 25th -after
a lengthy illness. He was 54.
Surviving is his wife, the
former . Marjorie Cudrnore,
daughter of Mr.. and Mrs.
Edgar Cudmofe Hensall;, one ,
son Jack; and one daughter,
Ruth Ann,' Brampton: Also
surviving is his mother Mrs.
Roy MacDonald Exeter. 'His
father , Roy MacDonald
predeceased one month ago.
Two sisters Dorothy (Mrs.
Ted Prouty) and Jea4n (Mrs.
Stewart Triebner)., Exeter
also survive.

TAYLOR REUNION,
The Taylor reunion was

youngest baby attending.
During the supper hour
Norris and Connie Taylorand
four daughters were
presented with a going away,
gift. Bill Taylor read a very .
humourous address to which
Noi..ris and Connie both,
replied with thanks.
On June 30th the family
moved to RR 2 Kilworthy
near Gravenhurst where they
purchased the "Three Coins
Motel". All their family wish
