(News Record photo) Rehearsals begin at Blyth The population of Blyth, Ontario has once again been swelled by a company of eleven actors and actresses. Rehearsals began Monday, June 6 for the season's openers, The. Blood is Strong by Lister Sinclair and A Summer Burning by Harry Boyle. Rehearsals for The Blyth Memorial History Show and The Shortest Distance Between Two Points begin shortly. A Summer Burning will see the return of Ron Barry, whom patrons will remember from last year's production of Mostly in Clover, as Grampa. Angie Gei and Jim Schaefer will re-create the roles of Mother and Father Doyle in the new play. Jack—Blum, another veteran of the Festival, will play the city hoodlum who disrupts their lives, while Rick Prevett will perform the role of young Joe Doyle. The revival season, from a Blood is Strong, a from last year's also has been cast mixture of familiar and unfamiliar faces. Brendan McKane'and Alfred Humphreys will re-create Murdoch MacDonald and Barney Hannah and Lynda Langford returns to do Kate. Newcomers Layne Coleman, New clerk for Tuckersmith by Wilma Oke Jack McLachlan, 31, the treasurer for the municipality of Bracebridge for the past five years will take up the duties of the clerk - treasurer for the township of Tuckersmith on July 1. His salary will be $18,000. He will replace James McIntosh of RR 3, Seaforth, who resigned this spring after ,serving the township for 16 years. His salary is $10,500 and his wife assists him. Mr. McLachlan, a native of Tuckersmith is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McLachlan of RR 3, Kipper. He is I a graduate of Seaforth District High School and is married to the former Mary 1-lelen Buchanan of Walton. They have a two-year old daughter, Sherri Ann.
