McKillop to get extra snow
removal subsidy
by Wilma Oke
McKillop Township Council
will apply for a sup-
plementary road main-
tenance subsidy of $25,445 to
cover a period from January
1 to April 30. The application
to, the Ministry of Tran-
sportation and Com-
munications will be made
because the township paid out
over $73,000 for snow removal`
-Costs this past winter, Road

Campbell said at the council
meeting in Winthrop Monday.
The tender of Exeter
Roofing was approved to
to
remove the old roofing
material on the township
workshop and replace it with
a new layer of tentest, then
cover it with layers of tar-
' paper and tar, and add new
flashings, at a cost of $2,475.
The tender 's subject to the
approval of the Ministry of
Transportation and Com-
munications.
The Leonhardt drain has
been completed at a cost of -
$2,960 plus the engineer's fees
of $1,050. This was below the
original estimate but the
amount was not available at
the meeting due to the ab -
sense of the clerk, Mrs.
Marion McClure, 'because of
illness.
Applications for two tile
drainage loans , were ap-
proved for $3,421 and $8,300.
