Dianne Camp, a six-year-
old mare by Camp Hanover -
Dianne Grattan H. won her
fqurth race of the year at
Elmira on Monday night. She
is owned by Ken Holmes of
Seaforth and,paced her mile
in 2:09.2 with driver Ron
Williamson.
RP Reggie Ford, an 11 -year-old
gelding .by Glenford - Miss
Judy Bars, owned by Charles
Brindley of Goderich had his
first win of the year at
Hanover on Saturday night in
. 2:13.1 with Jack Meriam on
the bike. He has also had a
second and a -third in three
starts this year: Last year he
took his record of p., 2:10.4

Dilly Dares was second at
Greenwood on May 24 for

Swinging Beauty, owned by

Williamson. She 'took a new
record of 2:06 at Orangeville
on May 22. She has started 13
times this year with four
wins, four seconds and one
third, good for earnings of
$2,493.
Harold Gibbings qualified
Harlo Champ, which he co-
owns with Ernest Brown, at
Elmira on Monday night.
Last fall Champ nearly died
when he was stabled at
Western Fair Raceway with
Norm Campbell. He
developed some undiagnosed
ailment from which he seems
to Dave fully recovered since
she was seconde in 2:12.4.
Bill Rapson qualified
Senate Leader, p., 2:03.1 for
the Rapson family of
Holmesville. Timely Pat was
a winner in 2:09.3 at
Orangeville.
Dapper Dillon was eighth
again at the Meadowlands on
Friday night, although he was
timed in 1:57.2 in a trot that
went in 1:56.3, a new world's
record for trotting geldings.
Last Wednesday May 25th,
township baseball officials
met to discuss the upcoming
summer baseball season.
Four teams from Goderich

teams from Colborne Twp.
Hullet Twp., Auburn • and
Varna. We hope that by the
end of June everything will
be ready to start the regular
baseball season.
This year we encourage
parerits to take a lively and

CPS has track day
Despite the extremely hot'
weather last Wednesday and
Thursday, the students at the
Clinton Public School held a
successful track and field
meet.
In the boys division. the
senior winner . was Shayne
Elliott with 46 points and the
runner up was Reg Sullivan
with 24 points. Bill Tugwell'
gained 38 points from the
various events to take the
intermediate championship
and the runner up was Jeff
Colclough with 26 points.
In the junior boys class
Pete Denomme held 40 points
to take the championship and
Brian Cooper came in second
with- 22 point -s. In the midget
division, George (oventry
gathered 32 points to be the
.top- winner and Steve Hearn
and Jeff Corrie tied for
second place with 29 points.

division with 64 points and she
was followed by Connie King
with 26 points,,'•
In the girls intermediate
class, Shelley Ste. Marie won
with 66 points and Linda
McKellar was the runner up
with 28.
Angie Demur collected 39
points to take the girls junior
division and Kathy Sladden
came in second with 26. In the
midget class Carol Anne
Connell was the champion
with 30 points and Jennifer
Wood, the runner up with 19
points.
The student athletes were
,involved in various events
such as the high jump, 100
me'tr(' race, 200 metre race,
long run, long jump, triple
jump, shot put and the discus.
Hensall youth receives degree

Donald Jaynes Noakes, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Noakes, 'Hensall, received his
Honours Bachelor of Science
in Engineering degree.
Donald was aiti`arded the
Association of Proffessional
Engineers Medal and the
O.A.C. Alumni Graduation
Award. (The Association of
Professional Engineers
Medal is a gold medal and
books of approximately $50
value, which are awarded to a
graduate of an accredited
engineering course, who
taking honours, obtains the
highest weighted average
percentage in the practical
work' and written
examinations of the year.)

awarded a National Research
Council of Canada Post -
Graduate Scholarship worth
$6,000. He will hold tenure of
this scholarship in the
Department of Systems
Design' Engineering at the
University of • Waterloo in
September of this year.
Donald will be working
toward a Master of Applied
Science Degree in Systems
Design Engineering.
