to hold open house
Next week is Christian
Education Week for all
_pupils, teachers, supporters
and friends of the Clinton and
District Christian School.
In the school, throughout
the week of April 17-23, there
• will be a heightened
awareness of the vvnique
Christian character of the
school, of its historical
background, and of its
dedication, to the concept of
Christianity in a democratic
society.
On Wednesday from 7 to 9
p.m., there will be an open
house to which the general
•
•
public, all supporters, and
friends of Christian education
will be invited. The purpose of
this evening, explained a staff
member, is to familiarize
everyone with the school by
letting them tour the building
and see the displays.
He added that there might
possibly be an opportunity to
clarify some of the more
contentious issues concerning
Christian education by means
of discussion.
Coffee will be served and,
more than ,anything else, they
hope that everyone has a good
time.

I need an opening sentence
here to ease readers into an
awareness that this issue of
this column is going to talk
about a subject common to
every human and feared by
most, namely how humans
relate in physical intimacy.
As my daughter likes to warn
me: "Are you ready nil-
this?"
orthis?" A group, of college,
students asked me to do a
series on sex -ethics.
Sex needs to be subjected; to
an ethic, instead of be the
base of ethics. The 'classic
illustration of our time is the
My Lai massacre. If the
perpetrator of that atrocity
had raped the women, his,
own men would have known
he was sick -in -the -head. That
was part of his later defense
plea, by the way.
He did not rape them. He
merely shot them and blew
their babies' brains'out, so no
one was willing to deny him
the power to do whatever he
wanted to the bodies of those
people. He only, wanted to
destroy them, not "use"
them!
In Oklahoma City and other
backward areas, police still
brag about staging raids
against pornography. And,
they should close down those
theaters, I am sure. After all,
those people had better be
home guarding their
television sets and hi-fi's
from the burglars who rip off
millions of dollars annually in
the United States. For years,
I have been threatening to
paint nude pictures on my
possessions since so many
enforcement people are
employed to fight sex I'd have
a better chance of getting my
possessions back! (Ask any
insurance adjuster.)
And, in their defense, the
police need to have said that
they are usually not happy
with such assignments. A few
psychotic district attorneys
collect the pornography for
showing at the slightest
provocation to their
"friends" and researchers.
Most good law enforcement
persons want t9 help and
protect and defend freedtarr ,r rom three mill six and' from
not destroy it.
All of which is to raise the
conscidusness of our land
about the question of our
sexual behavior and modes.
Virginity may 'be either
virtue or psychopathic
phobia. There are women
who have learned to ex-
perience only pain and fear in
relating to their husbands
physically. There are persons
who can be very "turned on"
to a paramour, and not be
able to relate closely to their
own spouses in sex.
There will be no answers in
this column. This series is
designed to let church and
social groups discuss areas
where our fear blinded us and
our ignorance has damned us.
