Hensall furling Club elects new execit
It took only an hour, but Bayfield's old library, which will be incorporated into the new
structure, was moved to a new site last Wednesday, across the street. The move was

membership committee will
"meet with the Hensall Parks
Board prior to May 1, 1977,'to
discuss plans for curling in
the new Hensall and District
Com nl,,nity Centre next year.
It was resolved
unanimously that Eric Luther
should make his professional
curling ability, available in
the way of curling instruction
fur' the 19 • 7—.8 season to all
Curling ('lub members with
particular emphasis on all
other skips.

Easter Services started at
Hensall tJnittld Church on
Thursday (Maundy Thur-
sday) evening with the
Sacrament of Communion
conducted by •Rev. Don Beck.
Hjs Communion Meditation
was "Do This in Remem-
brance of Me'reminding us
that Communion was the first
Sacrament instituted by
Jesus. The choir, led by Mrs.
.Iohn'Turkheim at the organ,
sang the anthem, "My
Saviour went to Calvary".
On Easter Sunday morning,
a Sunrise service was held at
li:30 a.m. conducted by the
Young People of the
congregation with Karen
McAllister giving the
meditation. She retold the
Easter Story and also told of
Easter customs in other
lands. Kevin Waring led the
service with Karen, while
John Blackwell assisted at
the organ. Laurie, Marilyn
and Joanne Pepper sang
"Morning has Broken" very
sweetly, assisted at the piano
by Brenda Pepper. Following
the service around one
hundred people assembled in
the -Fellowship Hall for
breakfast:
At the regular service, Rev.
Don Beck took as his sermon
the theme, "What a Way to
Live" stressing that "Mor-
ning always comes" both in
the world and in our personal
lives. An inspiring anthem
"King All Glorious" was sung
by the choir with Miss Mary
Goodwin taking the solo.
Lilies in the church were in
memory of the late Mr. and
LV1rs. Victor Fee. A white
potted mum was lovingly
placed by the family of the
late Archie Noakes in his
memory.

The third meeting of the
Bedtime Beauties, (Hensall
:') 4-H Club was held at the
United Church on Tuesday,
April 5. The meeting opened
with the 4-H Pledge and the
Roll . Call, "One thing to
remember when cutting and
marking fabric, make sure
your grain is straight." ,
Minutes were read by
Sandra Nixon and approved

Mr. Trevor Ferguson of
Montreal, son of Rev. P. A.
Ferguson of Chesley, and a
former minister of Hensall
Presbyterian Church, has
had a book published by
McMillan and Company,
"High Water Charts in the
Fall", - This book was
reviewed by the Canada
Council and ,Mr. Ferguson
received a grant of $8,,000. Mr.
Ferguson has already started
on a second book.+
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Sim Roobal over Easter Were
Mr. and Mrs. G. Bran-
derhorst of Simcoe on Good
Friday evgning and Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Veldhoen and
Michael, of Toronto on
Saturday. On Easter Sunday,
they were guests with Mr.
and Mrs. Don Dodds and
family of Seaforth.•
+Rev. Ferguson, of
Chesley, who suffered a heart
attack in October, is now able
to resume his former duties.

The final meeting No, 7 of
"Clothes for Leisure" was
held on April 4 at 7:15 p.m. in
the community hall. Six
members answered. the roll
call by giving plans for the
next sewing project at home,
or naming a sewing technique
learned from this project.
Madelyn Sewers was
secretary and Heather
Fothergill, press reporter for
the meeting. "Focus on
Living" was chosen for the
spring project in 1978.
The discussion centered
around the a'chievernent day
fashion show and the club's
exhibit. 'Each girl wrote a
short commentary on her
garment. Members then
practised setting up the
Club's exhibit "Trims with
Imagination".
Thanks were expressed to
the leaders, Gay Datema and
Madelyn Sewers for a suc-
cessful and interesting
project.
