Clinton's Minor Hockey
Association 'elected Gerald
Hiltz as its new president last
Thursday night, and Ken
Dupee as its new vice
president.
Two women, Mary Gib-
bings and Marg Stephenson
were elected to the executive,
along with Tony Jeacock,
Rick Fisher, Ross Jewitt, and
Lowell Barnes.
The new executive for 1977
inherit a $1,000 deficit, but no
plans have yet been made to
erase it, Hiltz said.
Meanwhile, pee wee coach
Don Shropshall said the team
would be turning over $193
profits from a fund raising
program to the Minor Hockey
Association following the
purchase of 20 team jackets
for $570.

In other business at last
Thursday's meeting of town
council, council:
• Is looking for
suggestions from citizens on
clean-up projects that could
be done by students this
summer under the Ausable-
Bayfield Conservation
Authority's summer work
program.
• Approved "10 -minute
only" parking signs to go oh
King and Wellington Streets
beside the Post Office, after
receiving a complaint from
Post Master Dick Dixon.
• Approved the renewal of
three taxi licenses to Harvey
Ashton after receiving ap-
proval from ..Police Chief
Lloyd Westlake.
• Gave" permission to
Blake's Welding and Machine
Shop to do inside renovations
to their shop damaged by fire
on March 1.1, but asked that
Blake's do business from the
rear of the building because
•of the traffic tie-up caused on
King Street.
• Praised Ray Dupee and
crew for the excellent job
they did on tearing down the
old house owned by the town,
south of Wesley -Willis United
Church, and learned the town
works crew is tearing down
the former Gliddon Dry.
Cleaning building.
• Were told by Ernie
Brown that there was concern
over the partially demolished
Grigg Fuels building on
Matilda Street. The building
was torn down last Friday.
• Learned there was a
misunderstanding over police
patrols at the recent Blake
fire. Dputy Reeve Frank
Cook said one fireman said
- the cruiser, which was on
another assignment, wasn't
needed, while several others
said it was.
`These two good . depart-
ments should work together,"
Mayor Lobb said.
• Will contact the ministry
of transport over a complaint
from Clarence Reeves of
Rattenbury Street, that an
antenna is interfering with
his tclevisioh reception.
• Gave verbal approval to
a request from the Kinettes,

• Andedid not object, to the
town's engineer B.M. Ross
acting as engineer for W.
Kotar on a 10 -acre sub-
division on King Street in the
southwest section " of town,
provided Ross pulls out if any
conflict of interest comes up.
• Approved two parking
