surprise anniversary dinner
for her mother and dad, Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur McClure of
Blyth, and birthday for her
husband Gordon, at the
Candlelight in Goderich, and
had a social time at the
Goderich Legion.
Jeanne Bennett travelled to
Strathroy to her daughter
Sally's, then travelled to
London to Neal and Mary
Bennett's where the four went
out to dinner and then to the
Royal Ballet Concert at
Alumni Hall at the University
of Western Ontario.

Golden Wedding
A very enjoyable afternoon
and evening was spent at
Exeter United Church 6n
Saturday, March 26th when
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Cud -
more, RR 1 Hensall
celebrated their Golden
• Wedding anniversary. The
tea, table' was tastefully
arranged with floral
decorations and golden
candles. ,
Pouring tea in the af-
�•ternoon were Mrs. Harald
Parker, Mrs. Rgbert Keyes,
Mrs. Elsie Keyes and Mrs.
Harold Cudmore: Those
serving were Mrs. Doug
i Wein, Mrs. Don Dalton, Miss
Kathy Parker, Mrs, Larry
Johnston and Mrs. Hugh
Davis. In the evening Mrs.
Marie Cudmore, Mrs. Eva
Parker, Mrs. Mervyn Cud -
more and Mrs. Gordon
Parker poured tea. Those
serving were Mrs. LeRoy
Keyes, Mrs. George Parker,
Mrs. Ken Parker, Mrs.
0 Marvin Taylor, Mrs. Ken
Cudmore and Mrs. Don
Rooth.
The marriage vows were
renewed in the sanctuary.
The wedding music was
played by Mrs. Leila Fink-
beiner. Mrs. Doug Warren
was guest soloist. Rev. Doug
Warren, London, performed
the ceremony assisted by
Rev. Clayton Kuepher,
Zurich. The bride was at-
tended by Mrs. Harold
Scruton (nee Elva Shaddick),
Port Dover, who was her
0 bridesmaid fifty years ago.
Mervyn Cudmore. Exeter
attended his brother as
groomsman as he did fifty
•years ago.
Following the ceremony, a
family dinner was served
0 from a beautifully arranged
table, centered with a wed-
ding cake, golden candles and
carnations. Rev. Bruce
Pierce, Crediton, asked the
blessing and Rev. Joe Baker,
Toronto expressed
congratulatory remarks. Mr.
Jack McDonald Brampton,
*grandson, was master of
ceremonies.

Congratulations were
received from Syracuse, New
York and Calgary, Alta.
Many floral gifts were
received from Dillbury,
Penn. Calgary, Nova Scotia
and the Exeter Legion as well
as many local organizations
and friends. A scroll was
received from pierre
Trudeau, a plague com-
memorating the 2r5th year of
Queen Elizabeth's reign .from
Jack Riddell and a message
of congliatulations from'
Premier William Davis. At a
recent meeting ,f the
Gideons, 44 Bibles were
donated in honor of Mr. and
Mrs. Cudmore's Golden
Anniversary. After returning
to their home on Saturday
evening their neighbours and
friends surprised them with a
"chivaree" which was en-
joyed by all.
