United Church Notes
Greeting into the Narthex
on Sunday morning were

Hulley. Ushers were Larry

The choir anthem was

Rev. McDonald's children's
story was "Not Being Able to
Hear". Junior leaders were
Marjorie Duizer and Joyce
Sewers. The message was
"Harsh Words". Assisting
Rev. McDonald with com-

Sewers and Danny Lear.
Serving the bread were Earl
Gaunt, Emerson Hersk,
Margaret -Taylor and Harry

Gordon Shobbrook and
Garnet Wright. .
4-H Meeting
On March 21, seven 4-H
members met in the Lon-
desboro Hall at 7 • 15. This was
a double meeting where we
discussed such things as
trims, bindings, braid, fringe
and enclosed application of
lacd and eyelet. We were also
showed facings, un-
cierstitching, casings for
elastic and direct application
of lace and eyelet.
We are all learning a great
deal in this club.

Norman Cartwright and
Wayne Hulley enjoyed
skating at the Blyth arena on
Monday afternoon.
Quilting course
The Senior quilting course
was completed on March 22 in
the hall, when ten ladies took
advantage of this courge.
Attending were Nora Pipe,
Florence Snell, Vi Burns,
Audrey Thompson, Dora
Shobbrook, Hattie Wood,
Addie Hunking, Betty Hulley,
Hazel Reid and Linda Hor-
banuick.
On closing, the leaders
Marjorie Anderson and
Marjorie Duizer were
thanked and were presented
with a gift.
Cheerio Club
The Cheerio Club met on
Wednesday, March 23rd at
the home of Dora Shobbrook,
acting president, who
‘"elcomed all with a ,reading
"welcome" and "March",
and all repeated "My Wild
Irish Rose". Dora read
"Cactus" and led in prayer.
The minutes of the last
meeting and financial reports
were read by Mary Robinson.

The second meeting of the
"Leisuring Ladies" was held
at the home of Mary Buffinga
on March 9. We opened the
meeting with the pledge and
roll call was answered by all„
including our 'new members,
Kathy Bouman and . Teresa
Konarski. We decided on the
club cover and our club's
name. A discussion was held
on measuring the pattern
pieces, rereading theins and
we were then showed the bias
and how to alter the pattern
and find out if your shoulders
are too small or too large.
The third meeting was
again held at the home of
Mary Buffinga on March 16.
After Hattie looked over the
books, we went over the skit
for the Achievement Day
made by two of the members.
It is not quite finished.
A discussion and demon-
stration was held on darts,
ironingthem,gathers, putting
on lace, French seams, flat -
felled seams, and plain
seams: For group work all of
us got to iron one of those
demonstrated.
