Skaters get financial aid The Clinton Figure Skating Club got a three-way shot in the arm recently in the way of financial assistance to aid in the excellent training program for the '77 - '78 skating season. In response to their letters requesting financial help, they wish to thank the following three service clubs for their generous donations; The Clinton Kinettes, the Clinton Kinsmen and the Clinton Lions amounting to an $800 total. Expenses of the Clinton Figure Skating Club seem to climb higher and higher each year. Some of these major expenses are ice time, nrnfessional wages, ad- ministration costs, test day costs and their own club competition expenses, in- cluding mileage fee's for judges, C.F.S.A. registrations and Interclub fees - just to mention a few. Unless money making projects are held often during the year it is impossible to balance the budget. Club parents. don't mind working on these projects, in fact it's healthy for the club. But receiving these donations from the service clubs alleviates that "mill stone" financial burden which often hangs heavy over the club. Thank you, Clinton Kinettes, Kinsmen and Lions! Recent tests passed were the following: ". Lori Consitt, three badges - speed, figures and free style I; Tracy Norman, two badges - speed and jump; Lorilee Robinson, speed; ' Jennifer Woods, novice II; Margaret Dupee, the second Jr. Silver dance called Rocker; Cheryle Beane, completing the Jr. Bronze dances by passing the Ten 'Fox; Carol Beane, completing the preliminary dance set by passing the swing dance. Congratulations, skaters. It's nice to finish up the season with some more credits. Have 'a happy summer skaters. Hope to see . all one hundred of you back in the fall! The Walkerton girls presented a Hawaiian theme this year and to add fun to the day for every rock you hogged, you had to ick up a paper banana. The girls with the most bananas at the end of the day won a prize — a bunch of bananas. I understand the skip, Marlene, provided her team with a snack for the ride home.
