UCW meets
Fo11lowing a morning of
quilting and a pot -luck din-
ner, the ladies of Chiselhurst
United Church held their
March meeting. .
The president, Mrs. Harold
Parker, resided and opened
the meeting. Mrs. Jack
.Brintnell was in charge of the
Worship Good Neighbours.
The roll call was answered by
nine ladies.
A letter was received
regarding parcels to Angola,
also from Westminster and
Alma Colleges and the
London Conference at Sar-
nia. The Offering was
received and dedicated. Mrs.
Thomas Brintnell gave a
poem "Nature's Secret and
Ho"e" to Count Your
Blessings". The treasurer
gave a report.
Easter lilies will be pur-
chased for the Church and a
donation was given to the
Bunny Bundle. Mrs. Alvin
Cole was in charge of the
Study, introducing a chapter
on China. The meeting
concluded with the Lord's
Prayer,
Mr. Len Purdy has been a
patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London.
Rev. W.D. Jarvis con-
ducted service in Carmel
Presbyterian Church on
Sunday speaking on the
fourth' Lenten message en-
titled "Jesus Our Brother in
Suffering".
Mrs. Dorothy Taylor
presided at the piano during
the service of song. The
movie "The Cross and the
Switch Blade" is being shown
at Brucefield Centennial
school Saturday 2nd at 8 p.m.
Mrs. Glenn Bell and Mrs.
Bertha MacGregor were
recent visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Ulch and family
at Russeldale.
Mrs. Mary Funk of London
was a recent visitor with Mrs.
Leona Parke.
Mrs. William Smale
returned to her home on
Saturday after receiving
treatment at South . Huron
Hospital, Exeter.
Allan Bell is a patient in St.
Joseph's Hospital London
where he is receiving
treatment following surgery.

Hensall Kinettes plan rummage sale

The March meeting of the
Hensall and District Kinettes
was held at the home of
Sharon Schurman with
resident Marion Oen in the
chair and all members
present. The Exeter Kinettes
arrived with the Travelling
Boot a fellowship promotion
among Kinette. Clubs - and
joined in the meeting. New
member, Mrs. Sharon Fink,
was installed and welcomed
into the club.
During the meeting, it was
reported. that the bus trip to
the Ice Capades was enjoyed
by all who attended. Plans
are now underway for the
Easter Shut-in visits and the
Spring Rummage Sale. The
Kinettes will be preparing the
meal for the Kinsmen's
Elimination Draw on April 7
and that same night will be
having an informal card
party. Five members will be
attending the Kinette in-
terclub in Wingham on April
13.
Following the business
portion of the meeting, Karen
showed a slide presentation of
her travels to Rio, Hong Kong
and Tokyo and served a
delicious lunch.
UCW meets
The March meeting of Unit
2 of the Hensall United
Church Women was held on
Monday evening, March 14.
Mrs. Carl Payne was in the
'chair and opened the meeting
with a poem, "Being Kind".
Mrs. Grace Drummond led
the devotional on living a
rich, satisfying life. It's up to
us - our gifts are from God for
a rich, satisfying life in His
service. Spring is a time of
renewal of faith. She closed
with the hymn, Faith of our
Fathers.
Roll call was answered by
ten members showing in-
teresting articles and telling
about them. A letter from the
Queensway Nursing home
thanked the UCW for
Fish and Game Club
elects new 1977 officers
Dave Beach was elected the
new president of the Clinton
Fish and Game Club for 1977
at the club's meeting Monday
night.
Bob Johnston was elected
first vice-president and Bill
Murray, second vice
president. Other executive
officers elected were Kay
Falconer, secretary, and Don
Jefferson, treasurer.
