in the high schools.
Entrants get- a chance -to
win $250 in Canada Savings
Bonds and $250 for the
Students Council.
Students seen drunking
milk will be given an entry
form for the contest by one of
the official milk spotters.
Most students are now
drinking milk, hoping to be
spotted and also hoping to win
that $250.
An error was made in the
London Free Press on March
8 when it incorrectly reported
that the library at CHSS lost
$6,240 in books during the
school year 1975-76. The
figure actually covers a
seven year period. This
means that we lose about
$1,000 per annum in books.
Even that is a great loss.
Many books are actually
misplaced, forgotten about;
others are stolen. It costs the
taxpayers a mint to replace
the books each year.
The students in the high
schools today will become the
taxpayers of tomorrow. They
too will carry this burden
unless something is done.

My parents claim that at
nineteen years of age I am
now an adult, ,and should
therefore have will made,
but since I own very little
personal property I really
can't see the sense.
What js your opinion?
Though making a will at
your age is not essential, it is
nevertheless a wise idea. A
will lets you give property to
whomever you wish (with
some limitations if you are
married,) whereas, if you die
without a will (intestate) the
Devolution -of Estates Act
decides where your property
will go. It is up to you who you
want 'controlling your
property after you die.
If you die unmarried and
without a will, your closest
next of kin (your parents and
brothersandsisters) will take
the property under the Act.

In a desperate need for
money my husband signed a
mortgage and it turns out that
he signed to pay a bonus of
$1,000 on a $5,000 mortgage.
What can we do?
There are a number of
statutes which protect us from
unscrupulous businessmen
and here' we are dealing with
just such a statute.
While it is legal to charge a
bonus for a loan and to state it
and the principal as one sum,
no bonus can be harsh or
unconscionable in all the
circumstances, so-- you can
apply under the Un-
conscionable Transactions
Relief Act to court for help.
However as this area of the
law is extremely comple4 we
advise you to consult a lawyer
first.

A bank manager told me
that to get a loan 1 would have
to give my car as collateral.
Just what are the con-
sequences if 1 agree?
If you give your car, (or
anything else) as collateral,
this gives the bank further
:seeurity for theloan and it has,
a "security interest" in the
collateral, giving it certain
rights if you default on your
payments.
So long as you pay .the loan
off as agreed your car is safe,
but' if you default on your,
payments then the bank may
take possession of the car and
either dispose of it, (sell it) or
keep it in satisfaction of the
debt.
