This past weekend Bayfield
'Pee Wees held a very suc-

'Bayfield. The games started
Friday night with Goderich
,Township defeating Grand
Bend and Bayfield defeating
Goderich Steak House 7-3.
Goals for Bayfield were
scored by Jeff Merner, three,
Darin Telford, Rob Siert-
se.ma, David Phoenix and
Rich Johnston with one each.
Assists went to David
Sturgeon with three and
Darin Telford with one.
• On Saturday morning
starting at 8 a.m. Zurich
defeated Goderich Toronto
Domin-ion Bank; 10a.m. saw
Monkton defeat Clinton
Ponies. The second round
started at 12 noon with Grand
Bend defeating Goderich
Steak House.
At 2 p.m. Bayfield defeated
Goderich Township 7-3. Goals
for Bayfield were scored by
Jeff Merner and Rick
Johnston with two each.;
Darin Telford, David
Sturgeon and John Dowson
with one each. Assists went to
David Johnston, Rich
Johnston,, Darin Telford, and
Jeff Merner.
- At 4 p.m. Toronto Dominion
Bank defeated Clinton Ponies
and at 6 p.m., Zurich defeated
Monkton.
Sunday started at 12 noon
with the finals.
• In the "B" Trophy Toronto
Dominion. Bank defeated
Grand Bend. At 2 p.m.
Bayfield met Zurich for the
"A" Trophy and were
defeated 6-3. Scoring for
Bayfield were David
Sturgeon with two and Rick
Johnston. Assists went to
Darin Telford and Jeff
Merner.
The most valuable player
trophy for each team went to
the following: Monkton,
Danny Rodgers; Zurich,
"Mark Kirk; Goderich T -D
Bank, Dean Bowra; Goderich
Steak House, S. Profit; Grand
Bend, Terry Brown ;
Goderich Township, Keith
McClure; . Cljgtton Ponies,
Dave Bedard; Bayfield, Jeff
Merner.

the tournament a success.

Novice team played in
Clinton and lost 4-1. Steven
Taylor scored Bayfield's
goal.
Scouting weep
observed in Village
Bayfield Brownies, Cubs
and Scouts attended St.
Andrews United Church on
Sunday morning to observe
Scouting Week in honour of
the founders Lord and Lady
Baden-Powell
The 48 young people and
their leaders were led into
Church. by the colour party,
consisting of Brownie Lisa
Telford, Cub Michael Clark
and Scout Roger McKinley.
Scout Rob Siertsema and
Cub Trevor Scotchmer acted
as ushers and Scout Larry
Taman read the Scripture.
The St. Andrews minister
Rev. James Reddoch spoke to
the group and told them of the
similarity of Scouting and the
Bible. , He said the Bible
speaks of those living in tents
and he said they would have
made good scout's.
Rev.. Reddoch asked for a
showing of Brownie Sixers;
the Cub Grhnd Howl and a
Scout presentation.
,It was a most impressive
service "and , thanks is ex-
tended to Rev. Reddoch and
St. Andrews Church for their
hospitality.

The Trinity Anglican
Church Sunday morning
Service took the form of an
old fashioned Hymn Sing, and
was much enjoyed by the
members and visitors at-
tending.
Also joining Trinity were
members of St.. James
Middleton, their sister parish.
The Sunday School pupils,
with their teacher Miss
Shirley Brandon, favoured
with the first verses of two
children's hymns ; "Jesus
Loves Me" and "Jesus Bids
Us Shine". before retiring for
their class instruction.
The Congregation and
Choir sang 12 old ,favourite
hymns and following the
service enjoyed a tasty snack
of coffee and sweet goods,
arranged as a pleasant
surprise by Dr. G. H. and
Mrs. Shepherd in the Parish
Hall. Assisting were Miss
Kay Reid and Mrs. Edith
Smith.

with his sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Larry Fisher, Brian and
Bobby.
A pleasure to have Brig.
Morgan and Mrs. Smith
safely home after their

We had 28 of our' Brownies
out on Wed. evening. We
opened in the usual way with
our Brownie songs. Everyone
did the Promise, Tammy
Schilbe the law and Christine
Johnston the Motto.
Lisa Telford showed us a
new game which we played
and all enjoyed.
Bonnie Makins our Fluffy
Owl is enjoying a holiday in
Florida, s'o Tawny Owl
Charlene Porter took the
Tweenies under her wing for
work period. The Golden
Hand girls worked on their
sign language and others
busy on their badge work.
Jayne Sturgeon has been.
busy as a beaver working on
her Golden Hand
requirements and has
received her collector's and
Writer's badges in the past
few weeks. She was working
on her knitting Wednesday
night and we were pleased to
have Mrs. Bornath come
along of her own free will and
she worked with -Jayne. She
has two little girls in
Brownies, Ann and Trudy and
is one of those Moms who is
capable and willing to lend a
hand.

funeral of Mildred's aunt, the
late Mrs. Willow Wiltse in
Auburndale on February 8.
