McLeod Fisheries on the 'north side of the Bayfield River, is busy stringing nets in preparation for their commercial season. Stringing nets is an art in - itself and cannot be com- pared to the factory made nets. The ones strung by hand are far superior. When we visited McLeod Fisheries, owners Donald and Kay McLeod were working on a 21/2 inch nylon mesh, and were refilling some sideline already equipped with corks and leads. When finished and ready to be set in the wii.ters of Lake Huron, they will measure 150 feet in length. Nets also \Try in mesh size. When set in the water, the sill nets hang in a vertical position with the lead line at the bottom and the cork line at the top. Saturday, starting dt 8 a.m. Zurich sleets Toronto Dominion Bank and at 10 a.m., it's Monkton vs Clinton Ponies. The winners and loser play from 12 noon through to 6 p.m. with the finals starting on Sunday at 12 noon. This will be a good weekend of hockey so lets all get 'out and support the kids. +++ The Bayfield novice team played Zurich on Feb. 10 with the score of 6-0 for Zurich. On Feb. 12 Bayfield met Grand Bend in Zurich with the score of 2-1 for the Bend. On Feb. 18, Bayfield met Grand Bend in Bayfield with the tie score of 3-3. John Wooden scored all three goals with Bill Sinnamon playing a n excellent game in goal.' Plans are being made for the annual Chicken Barbecue' to be held ini• the arena on Friday, July 1. Work is to be completed in the Church kitchen following the in- stallation of the new cup- boards. .0 Mrs. Reddoch, Kathleen Siertsema and Jean Dunn gave an interesting report of their visit to the Seaforth Presbyterial meeting. Following adjournment, a lovely lunch was enjoyed. Reminder: to all Lions, that the Lions Youth Exchange are still looking for spon- soring families, Lion John Siertsema asks that if any interested Lion families in the club would like to host an exchange student to let him know right away.
