I've thought of saving some
money by making my will 'on
one -of 'those -for ms --they. set l .at -
the stationery store. Are there
any particular formalities
about signing it and so forth?
These home made wills are
worded in a general language,
so you maynot end up making
the dispositions of your
property you would have
wished.
However, if you insist, the
requirements are these: A will
must be in writing. It must be
signed by the testator, (that is
the person whose will it is) or
by someone else for him, and
at his request, and the
signature must be made in the
presence of at least two at-
testing witii sses,. who must
also sign.

I'm 17 years old. When I left
home last summer, I got a
small apartment. I've gotten
tired of living alone, and
want to ' move out. Can my
landlord enforce the lease
against me?
{ Under the age of Majority
and Accountability Act of 1971,
the age of majority in Ontario
for civil purposes is now 18,
where it formerly was 21. This
means that you are still a
minor.
Now, normally a contract
entered into by'll minor is not
enforceable against,_ him
unless he ratifies it after he
reaches the age of majority,
or unless it is a contract for
necessities.
Necessities ipclude, food,
clothing and shelter. A lease
can be seen as a contract to
provide you shelter, and so it
is binding, even though you
are under age.
