Can my landlord enforce the lease against me? { Under the age of Majority and Accountability Act of 1971, the age of majority in Ontario for civil purposes is now 18, where it formerly was 21. This means that you are still a minor. Now, normally a contract entered into by'll minor is not enforceable against,_ him unless he ratifies it after he reaches the age of majority, or unless it is a contract for necessities. Necessities ipclude, food, clothing and shelter. A lease can be seen as a contract to provide you shelter, and so it is binding, even though you are under age.
