What is our Heritage?
Well, our Heritage is many, many things.
Our Heritage is, a new settler clearing a field
for his crops, a fur trapper walking through
snow gathering his pelts,_ a ride to church on
Sunday morning in a horse pulled buggy, a
person running a -one-man weekly newspaper,
a farmer tapping trees in the spring for syrup.
Our Heritage is also a coal -oil lamp, a glass
milk bottle, a pot belly stove, an ice box, an
Eaton's catalogue, a one furrow plough, a

milk can, a hand cranked telephone, a one
piece hockey stick. And the list can go on and
on. `
And yet our Heritage is something else. It is
also memories. Memories of our past. As you
think back into Canada's past you are really
turning through the pages of Canada's history
books. As you are doing this you cannot help
but feel proud of out Country and the things
Canada stands for.
In Clinton:
To mark the occasion, the Kinsmen and the Huron County
Branch of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario are jointly
sponsoring a contest of projects based on the Heritage theme.
Entries from the county's Secondary Schools will be displayed
at the Town Hall this weekend, and can be seen at the following
times: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18
