Jlospitai Ahears
of Candy Striper 'idea
Plans for a volunteer Candy
Striper group were ten-
tatively announced at the
Feb. 7th meeting of the
Clinton Public Hospital's
.Ladies' ' Auxiliary. Barb
Hicks is looking into the
possibility of forming such -a
• group.
The meeting, chaired by
president Mrs. D. Coventry,
heard the treasurer's report
read by Miss K. Elliott, and
the secretary's report, read
by Mrs. Paul Walden,
The vanishing Card parties
were discussed by convenors
Mrs. Davies and Mrs. E.
Hinderley, who announced
that the initial three tables,
scheduled to play at her home
on Feb. 9 had already been
planned. It was hoped that
everyone would support this
project by holding their own
tea or card party.
Slides and pictures of the
various activities that
. members of the auxiliary are
involved in, are to obtained
for presentation at the Spring
Conference of District 2,
Monday, April 25th, in
Waterloo.
The •various recom-
mendations from the
Executise meeting, held -in
January, were discussed and
approved. Mrs. H, Ball
reported on the membership
drive to be held in May, and
Mrs. Davidson reported on
the Penny Sale planned for
autumn, Sept. 15th.
With the Board's per-
mission already obtained, the
annual Hospital tea will be
held, Wednesday, May l 1 th.
Details are to be worked out
by social convenor, Mrs. Paul
Walden.
A report on the television
rental in the hospital rooms
was given by Mrs. M. Corrie.
These are well patronized by
the patients and $590.26 has
been cleared on them. The
television rental service for
the patients is not a money-
making scheme, and entails a
great deal of time put in by
those in charge. Volunteers
are needed for this work.
A shower of good books is
planned for the March
meeting, to supply the library
cart, and used -but -recent
copies of ,-magazines for the
waiting room.
