Mrs. Lear Was the organist at the wedding. The reception was held at Dundroon, 'near Collingwood, - Sympathy _ is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Allen Shaddick on the death of her brother-in- law, Harold Schneider in Kitchener on Saturday. Joan Garrow, London and Don Ellerby,and Chastity Colquhoun of Clinton, visited on Sunday with grand- parents, Mr. -and Mrs. 'Bert Shobbrook. The WI card party that was • cancelled on February 4th, will be held this Friday, Mr February 11, at 8 p.m. in the hall. (Intended for last week;, There was an excellent attendancew at the annual congregational meeting on Monday, January 24, in the Londesboro United Church. The blessing was asked by John Lawson, and all enjoyed the pot -luck supper served by social committee, convened by Mrs. John Radford. Following the supper the children retired to their fun and games. The adults sang hymns, with Mrs. Allen Bosman at the piano. Rev. McDonald led in prayers and it was moved that Mrs. Edwin Wood be recording secretary. - A memorial was 'held in memory of Mr.. Wm. Livingstone, Mr. Ralph Davidson, Mr. Willows Mountain, Mr. Wm. Ross, Mr. Wm. Hamilton, Mrs. - -W m. Gourley, Baby Heather Lynn Riley, and Mrs. Wilmer Howattt. A minute's silence was held, with prayer and hymn. A ;panel discussion was held on reports of the year and questions. Panel members were -Gary Jewitt for Sunday School reported that good Sunday school programs were used and commended the teachers. Mrs. Reg Lawson reported for the U.C.W. Last years project was buying choir gowns. For this year it is for more to attend meetings. All ladies of the congregation are welcomed. The UCW is planning a special meeting in June and World's Day of prayer, March 4. Mrs. Margaret reported that the divided into committees" which got everyone working. Representatives to Huron - Perth Presbytery will be Mrs. Laura Forbes, Mr. Norman Alexander and alternate Miss Edyth Beacon. The manse committee is Mrs. Jack Lee, Mr. Elwood Mitchell, Mrs. _Nelson McClure, Mrs. Jim Scott Sr, a representative of Burns UCW, Londesboro UCW and Manse trustees. Laurel Duizer spent a couple of days last week with, Lori Cartwright, Auburn. Explorers The Explorers held their meeting on January 2Q opened meeting with the "Explorer song"- then repeated the "Explorer Purpose". Cheryl Lyon and Laurel Duizer did the Explorer Emblem, then " Shelly Westerhout read the Exptorer picture. •Dianna Shobbrook and, Dawn Flynn were on the program. They told some jokes and riddles. After the program the girls made- refrigerator dogs from fun furs. We then planned our winter sports to be a tobbogari party on February 26 at • p.m.. They were also, reminded they were going to the church on January 23. They ended the meeting with the "Explorer Prayer" and "This is my Father's World".
