Students, teichers dead locked
Last Thurs. the student
body was let out to watch the
teachers try to play hockey
against the student team.
This annual event aroused
many comments from both
teachers and .students: One
student commented that it
"was probably the best -
hockey game in a long time."
One of the participating
teachers,agreed and then
added "he students had to
struggle to keep the score at a
tie. The final score was 7-7.
With both sides piaying
their best, the game was very
entertaining.. With tripping
being a strong point with the
teachers, the students found
it difficult to skate. The
students "not wanting to hurt
the old man" played a
relatively straight, clean,
game.
The teachers with their ups
and downs (mostly downs)
struggled to the finish to tie
the game.
With the score ending in a
tie, no-one will know how the
superior team really is.
We're finally back!

Aries This is a mediocre

Taurus !
Taurtls - Ignore any snide
remarks from Aries people

the "bull" you can guess as to
what your major talents are!

Gemini - This is a good
week for ypu to really,; .get
down to work and put your
nose to the grindstone.
Possibility during week of
subsequent, scraped nose. Be
careful.
Cancer - Being born under
the sign of the crab, you have
great potential in the

Student of the week resume
' By Nancy Clynick
This year as a twist on the.

to split this article into two
sections.
Section One will follow the
procedure of last year's.
"SOTW". A student will be

All you do: Just ask Annie!
Dear Annie:
This girl I know, who was
my best friend, just started
going with this guy who is in
grade 12. She is only in grade
nine and she goes out with
him.'
She always brags about this
to me because I can't go out
yet. When she's not bragging
she won't even speak to me.
She really thinks she's thE.
best now that she's going with
an older guy.
I can't stand the guy that
she's going with and when I
see them together I just avoid
them. He is breaking up our
good friendship (at least it
was until he came along).
Do you think I should tAtigv
her about this, or just forgetlt
and hope they break up soon?
Please answer right away. A
good friendship is at stake.
Worried "Friend"
Dear Worried:
Your friendship may have
seemed to disintegrate with
the appearapce .of this guy,
but it couldn't have been very
substantial in the first place,
in my humble opinion. doubt
very much that she is willing
to drop him because you can't

her to kiss him off when she

Dear Annie:
My friend has a problem
getting -this guy that she likes.
Her friends asked him if he
would take her out. I -le
doesn't want to go out with
her because he' says he
doesn't know-her'well enough.
We would like to know how
he could get to know ,her
better. Give us your advice.
The Nosey Bunch
Dear Bunch:
In the old country, my
brother Fang used to make
subtle (well, almost)
suggestions to guys I was
hung up on. Sure was nice
being in demand.
But seriously, fellow
Buttinskis, you must be
joking. If he had even a last
resort last ditch intention of
taking the girl out, it would
take him about ten seconds to
get to "know her well
enough".
Get with it! What kind of
meddlers are you, anyway?
Nobody takes pride in their
work anymore.

• "All people.arriving on the
late buses go directly to your
class, it's Day I, period I,".
and the hustle and bustle in
the halls slowly tiles out into
individual classrooms until
the next delayed bus comes
in.
The record-breaking
temperatures and mon-
strous drifts of snow and
slippery roads have caused a
blood chilling battle between
the buses and the elements.
The buses have to be in the
best possible working con-
cition (and some aren'3 to
conquer the treac • rous
conditions of the roads.
Although the drivers have
put up a heroic fight, there
are times when the elements
overpower thein and the
buses are retired to prepare
for the next day's fight. By
Golda Sewers.

pancake breakfast and that's just what brothers Grant, left,
and John Morgan did during Winter Carnival's Pancake
Breakfast. (News -Record photo)
