Stangs on move again

The Clinton Mustangs won
two more games last
weekend during their final
road trip of the, season Which
winds up their taway games
on Tuesday Januar+ 18, in
Kincardine. ...._ .,
Robert Heard .... scores SOth
The Mustangs' have seven
remaining home games
between the 21sVof January
and the 13th of February.
Last weekend they
travelled to New Hamburg on
Friday and dumped the
Hahns 7-3, while on Sunday
they travelled to Kincardine
and outlasted the Kinucks
•The Stangs broke the game
wide open in the first period
in New Hamburg with six
goals, while the .. -Hahns
replied with- a pair. Tim
McLean led the Stangs-with a
pair of goals while Grant
Shelton,. Dave "Rocket"
Stephenson, Robbie Heard
and Pete Thompson notched,
singles. . -.
Both teams remained
scoreless in the second frame
while each teai'ri scored once„
in the final period. Dave Watt
scored Clinton's 'only goal in
the period. -
In Kincardine last Sunday
night, Clinton's leading
scorer Robbie Heard notched
-his 50th of the season with a
' hat -trick performance early
in the" game. The Stangs
scored three unanswered first
period goals, one each by
Robbie Heard, Randy Millar
and Dave Watts.
Both teams scored three
goals - each in the second
period. Robbie Heard had a
pair for Clinton and,, Ken
Robinson scored his first of a
pair.
The teams also split in the
third period with each team
scoring three times. Ken
Robinson with his second of
'the game and Pete Thompson
and Dave "Pocket"
Stephenson handled the
scoring for'Clinton.
Clinton's . record at the
present time is 19 wins,., six
losses, and, a tie. They hold
down ; second place behind
Listowel Cyclones who have a
two point- lead in OHA Jr. "C"
Central division.
The Mustangs continue
their road this weekend with
trips to Walkerton on Friday,
Listowel on Sunday, and
Kincardine next Tuesday,

Colts dump Mitchell 6-2
Right-winger Scott Parks
snapped a personal scoring
slump (4 ga'mes) last Sunday
night in Clinton as he tallied
three goals to pace the
Clinton Colts to a convincing
6-2 triumph over the Mitchell
Red Devils.
The win also snapped the
Colts losing streak at three
games. The Colts led 3-0 after
the first period anti increased
their lead to 4-0 after the
second before Mitchell scored
earlyin the third frame.
Other Colt. marksmen were
Rick Frenlin, Greg Burns and
Brian "Victor" Kennedy.

won their eighth game In
succession in W.O.A.A.
league play last Saturday.
The locals defeated
Harriston by a convincing 9-1
score.
They remain in first place
all alone by 3 points over
Seaforth, whom they defeated
a week age. Seafo;th and
Arthur tied 5-5 last :Saturday
afternoon in Seaforth.
Rick Gaittreau led the
youngsters with three goals
.last Saturday, while Randy
Marriage had a pair and
singles went to Scott
Ducharme, Troy Baines,
Bobby Dupee and Mark
Cantelon.
