The stormy weather around New Yeat's made driving conditions hazardous and cancellations were made in some of the planned travelling. As we watched and enjoyed the Rose Bowl Parade on New Year afternoon, we thought of our good friends,. Mr. and Mrs. Claire Merner, who are at present visiting with their. daughter Doris, Mrs. Gillespie, her husband and family near Pasadena, where the parade took place. Mrs. V. Mrs. Broadfoot read thank -you cards from the ill and shut-in. Mrs. Jean Henderson chaired the business portion of the meeting and reported. that the cook books had arrived. Most of the $2 books have•been sold with more on order. The meeting regretted Mrs.. Jean Henderson's resignation due to her in- volvement in other activities.. She W ll..',:..;remain as vice - 'president. Mrs. Marjorie Broadfoot ' is taking the president's chair for the coming year. Mrs. E. Hen- derson then rung , the Christmas bells and a contest was conclu'cted by those in charge and lovely gifts were exchanged. A cup of c ee and cookies were enjoyed y all and a social hour was h ld.
