Taking part in the inaugural ceremonies were ,Rev. William M. Bennett of Trinity Anglican Church, who gave the Invocation; Rev. James Reddoch 'of St. Andrews United Ca,�the Dedication; Monsi or"M.W... Bourdeau (ret.) oman Catholic Priest, the Guidance; and Rev. Brian Harrison, Pastor -of Bayfield Baptist Church, who pronounced ten•ediction. A gavel and stand, crafted by Dr. James Garrett, was presented to Bayfield Council by Reeve Ed and- Mrs. Oddleifson. The gavel and stand are of walnut from a tree cut down by .the late George (Dad) Weston on Main Street several years ago. Council members were very disturbed in respect to "The Code of Practise". regarding the situation of Livestock buildings on farm '"property and intend to attend an open discussion meeting to be held on January 20 from 2 to 4 in the Hensall Legion. Council confirmed the Brownies mark Christmas The Bayfield Brownie Pack had their Christmas party on Wed. evening, Dec. 22. The.24 little girls all donned party dresses for the oc- casion. Guests were Kelly Brandon, Trudy-Bornath and Corrie and Lori Sinnamon. These little girls will be Tweenies in the New Year. Lisa Telford put up a lovely Christmas tree complete with lights and ornaments .for the party. Games were played and Leigh Ann Taman, Tanya Grillmeyer, Trudy Bornath and Chris Westlake said recitations. There was a gift exchange between the girls and cookies and chocolate milk served by the sixers, Lisa Telford, Barbara Hut- chings, Darlene Smith and appointment` 'of Councillor Frank McFadden as the villages representative on the Board of the Ausablec, " Bayfield Conser'va.tidin Authority appointed G.H. Ward and Partners, Auditors, London as Corporation auditors for 1977-78 or until their successors are named. In other business, council discussed at _ length the number of dogs runging.,.at Large and discussed 'the probability of increasing the price of dog tags, and also .talking with the London Humane Society for their ideas on the problem. Council also discussed the. fee schedule for the pump -out,. station at the Bayfield Marina, removal of a black- board in the council chain- Debbie Siertsema. Melanie Van Patter passed around pretty- cookie candy canes her mom had made for the Brownies. Each little girl received acandy • bag. Thanks is extended to Mrs. .Brown Lindsay for the treat of apples. • The Christmas party closed with taps. Village Baptist church active Sunday Dec. 26, Miss Elva Keys spoke to the Sunday School of Bayfield Baptist Church. Elva was home for Christmas from Bible College in Tennessee. She showed the children _._,._pictares of ;the school and explained the different things r. she participates in. She is an enthusiastic member of the Glee Club, and told how they go to different Churches and put-on musical programs. The regular morning service was held Jan. 2 in the Bayfield Baptist Church, followed by the monthly Communion Service. - Sunday night ,the pastor, Rev. Brian Harrison showed a movie entitled `,`The City of Bees". This movie had been arranged. -for the New Year's Eve Watch -Night Service which was cancelled due to inclement weather. The film was all about the life of bees, and their behavioural patterns. It explained that behavioural patterns are,forced on the bees, but tht man. has the privilege of 'forming his own behavioural pattern through his own free will, which God had given to each individual.
