Recently a new project
called Western Ontario
Skaters Development Fund
WS'S latmched.
This' fund wilt- be
ettablished to enable
financial assistance in the
form of grants. Any skater at
any level of training may
apply for a grant. Of course,
not all applications can be
accepted. A minimum
number of grants per club,
will be provided.
In order to provide for the
grant, money making
projects are a "must". Soon
skaters will be selling draw
tickets on cash prizes: lst
prize $500, 2nd prize $300, and
3rd 1200. The sellers of the
winning tickets receive $50,
$30 and $20 accordingly. The
draw will take place May 8 at
the Ratnada Inn, London.
Tickets will 'sell for $1 each.
The motto of the project is
"Skaters helping skaters"
As carnival time ap-
proaches, we remember
other colourful skating shows
presented in the past in the
Clinton arena. We remember
fondly the familiar voice of
Don Kay who was our master
of ceremonies for many
shows. Bath Don and his wife
Shirley played very active
roles on the °figure' 'slating
executive and through their
efforts along with other
former executives have
enriched the calibre of the
Clinton club.
The club wishes to extend
sympathy to the Kay family
on theloss of their loved one.
