She opened the meeting with a Christmas prayer. Mts. Robert McAllister gave the dak'otioiial based on the Christmasstory from Luke 2. Mrs. Eric Luther told the story of,'a number of carols and the ladies sang a few verses of each carol as the stories were told. Mrs. Nan Britton and Mrs. Luther sang two duets, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" and "Silent Night". Mrs. McAllister conducted the business when Mrs. Russell' Erratt reported nine parcels were packed for the hale. Mrs. Tom Sherritt� Y Tfor the Finance. Milverton l2- Ken Varley was the .prin- cipal scorer for Hensall putting five on the score board, three in the first period, one in the second and one in the third period. , The Bantamsdid not do quite so well, losing to Milverton 2-1. Kevin Parker scored the only goal tor Hensall, assisted by Dave McQuarrie. It was a close tie game as Milverton's winning goal was only scored in the last four . minutes of play. Steve Sararas is to be com- mended on playing a strong game in goal. The Atoms game on Friday night was cancelled. They will be playing Thursday and Friday night this week. United Church notes Two services were held at Hensall United Church on Sunday. The junior choir very sweetly sang, "The Little Drummer Boy", and "Do you Hear what I Hear?" in the first part of the service. and the "Westminster Carol" with the solo being taken by Randy Parkerlater. Dancing is from 10 p.m. to 2 !inton poiice r One minute after coming on duty Monday morning, Clinton ' Police Constable Gary Weir answered a call about a two -ca accident on the corner of Albert and John Streets. Little did the unsuspecting constable know, but it would be the first of four such minor accidents that he would in- vestigate that day. A four to six inch snowfall is said to have been responsible for the rash of accidents that in- cluded one at High and East Sts., one on Albert St. and one on Princess. Further details on the accidents were unavailable at press time. In other police news, a two car accident on Ontario St. last Thursday, resulted in a total of 5900 damage. Seaforth - man wins gate sign contest Brian Falconer of RR 4 Seaforth was ihe 1976 winner. of the Huron County 41.41 gate sign competition.. A member of the Kippfield4-14-Calf Club, Mr. Falconer received the Hallrice Farmers Trophy from Blyth at the annual 44-H awards night held in Clinton last month. During the summer pic- tures were taken of the 19 different entries in this competition and at the 4-H Club leaders meeting in 0 October the photos were judged by all leaders in the county.
