Atoms.get wings clipped
The Clinton Wil-dex Atoms
lost their first game of the
year, after four successive
victories, last Saturday.
However the game didn't
'Man anything due to the fact
it was an exhibition with their
southern vistors from Exeter.
The Broncos galloped into
Clinton and skated off with a
4-1 victory. Exeter opened the
scoring in the first period and
then went two goals up early
in the second period.
Clinton's leading markman
Randy Marriage narrowed
the gap also in the second
period as both teams skated
off for a rest with Exeter
holding a slim one goal lead.
In the third period, Exeter'
again opened up the scoring
and finished off with another
goal late in the game.
The local youngsters had
many opportunities to tie the
game up but fell short when
Randy Marriage, Scott Kay
and Bobbie DUpee an had
breakaway chances but were
defied by either, the
goaltender or the goal posts.
The Clinton netminder (s)
David Wright and Doug
Alexander were extremely
sharp throughout the game as
was Wayne Smith who done a
super job in his first game on
defence.

It was at the insistenctof Many friends and neighbours and
after much thought, that 1 decided to seek nomination for the
position of councillor. As a resident Of Tutkersmith Town-
, ip, 1 am concerned about the quality and quantity of
verimgot that I receive. I think that in spite of what was
•---teTcff*- contrary after the last provincial• eledion,
al government is still planned for all Ontario. 1 feel
that the recent Property Tax Revision Proposals are the first
step toward that end. 1 am opposed to regional government
because I feel that it will cater more urbanization and in-
dustrial growth because of the resulting broader tax base,
and that rural agricultural needs will be neglected. I also
think that a regional government will lose contact with the
people. Just because it is bigger doesn't mean it is better,
I have had no experience at municipal government but I feel
that my background will be of benefit. I am a graduate of
